Wow, I went at noon on 12/26 in the middle of our snow storm and our Tagret (north NJ) had no wrapping paper left.

I may try to stop by and see if it's 75% off this afternoon. I hope so but I'm betting it's still 50%. I've gotten wrapping paper and tape at 90% off so I don't really need any anyway but I would probably get some other stuff. I was lucky to even find s box of peppermint bark at 50% off so I'm guessing the good stuff is gone.

I think it just depends. The one I go to is not considered a good area, and there is a LOT of Christmas stuff left. Boxes and boxes of wrapping paper, decorations, etc.

I think it's possible. I have been there in the afternoon while they were in the process of marking something down so I think it may depend on when they get to it.

I'm quite Target obsessed and read quite a bit of forums dedicated to Target clearance. From what I understand, Christmas clearance should be marked down first thing in the morning. They do not have to hand scan all of the items like other clearance. Halloween, Christmas, etc. just gets marked down in a mass sweep by the computer system. Last year, Christmas was marked down on Thurs., Dec. 31. Of course some Targets will vary with the date.

Wow, the candy and little stocking stuffer stuff at my Target was still only 30% today. Wrapping paper and ornaments, etc. is 50%, though.

Would tape be 75% off same as paper? Or is it on a different markdown schedule?

Ooh, I just had a (pleasant) flashback to the "hidden" tape clearance from a few years ago. (Basically, the holiday packages of Scotch tape were virtually indistinguishable from the regular packages and had all been shelved together in the office section -- lots was left at 90 percent off). Anyway, tape tends to follow the "normal" clearance schedule, not the stingy one for candy, etc.

Yes, I scored on that. In fact, I just ran out this year. I'm hoping to score more.

Still 50% off at my store. Called another store that I was going to drive by anyway and it was also still at 50%. Hoping for tomorrow. There were still a few things left that I would pick up where I was today if they were 75% off.

ETA: Called this morning (Wed) and it's still 50% off. Grrr.

My Target was 75% today...and STOCKED! I didn't look for foil, but I got Ziploc storage containers and some Kleenex hand towels (in their regular section). The 3 packs of Scotch tape were $0.74, and in both the wrapping paper and usual office section.

Went back to Target yesterday and found 3 of the last packages of holiday aluminum foil in the reg. aisle. Also bought 3 of the Ghirardelli chocolate towers. All were still 50% off.

my "main" target was still 50% off this morning ...but we did great in the dollar spot-- we checked it briefly for a few things (we're travelling tomorrow and i wanted some car tricks...), and i bought some finger puppets to include with some other stuff i'm giving the neices and nephews for dh's family christmas (it's always over new year). i had what i thought was 6 dollars of stuff-- but it all rang up 25cents!!!!

so we went back and got a TON of slinkies :) (mini/NOT holiday packaging) and a dozen nursery rhyme board books (3 of each that they had... my newcomer's club does easter baskets in the spring for shelters and they always need baby gifts) also picked up more stickers, and some puzzles.

so , you win some, you lose some :) i've given up on the normal stuff, since we are pretty busy this weekend ;)

WHite Plains, NY is 75% off and there was still tons of stuff left. Wrapping paper, ornaments, cookies, chocolates, small toys, etc. I also found a cute chip and dip silverplatter (originally $29.99 and i got it for $6.xx - very nice.)
Also lots of table linens left, one small tree (one of those in a pot)
I didn't find any ziploc stuff or Bounty that was mentioned. Oh, I found a pack of Glade food containers (w/ penguins and snowmen, I believe) - on the regular isle.

Do you girls think they'll go 90% on New Year's Day? Or longer?

My store had a lot of tape that was not marked at all. But it was .50/roll and I was hoping for less. Yes, I know I'm so cheap.

Probably depends when your store went to 75. Mine was still at 50 today, so I'm expecting 75 tomorrow and 90 not until 1/3.

One store was 75% off yesterday and 2 more went 75% today. Got a few things but nothing fabulous. Lots of Ghiradelli for 75% which I really don't need to eat. :wink2: I was hoping for the 90% off tape sale too but the stores I have been to have already been cleaned out. The only tape left was in the office section and there wasn't much there at all.
