What can I make with all this extra sour cream?

DH and I both bought sourcream not knowing the other picked it up from the store. I was using it for mashed potatoes, he made a cheesecake. So now we have 2 unopened cartons of sour cream.

What can I make with it before it goes bad? (besides cheesecake and mashed potatoes)

:rotflmao:I bet if we made another cheesecake it would not go to someone else, but just wind up on my thighs. When my husband makes his cheesecake, it is good but sooooo heavy. I think it weighs about 10 pounds!

I remember someone asking this before, and sour cream coffee cake was suggested. Maybe a search will turn up the recipe?

Sour Cream Pound Cake could be baked and frozen for a later use.

I agree on looking for baking recipes... the best banana bread recipe I've ever had used sour cream as the "secret ingredient."

Cheesy potatoes

1 big tub of sour cream
1 bag hashbrowns with onions
8 oz shredded cheddar
1 can cream of mushroom or chicken soup

Mix it together and cook on 350 deg for an hour 15 minutes. It freezes well, too.

Excellent. Thank you everyone. And wow, I never knew you could use sour cream in pancakes! We are big pancake eaters, so I will be trying this out for sure.
