DD is nearly 11 months old. I do not want to take the pac away, she has a suck for comfort need and I prefer she use it as she needs/wants it. At this point, she uses it for sleep at night.

Most of the time, when it falls out it hits the floor. So my question is - any known safety issues tying the bumper to the outside of the crib?

I have one of these: CozyWedge (http://www.cozywedge.com)

I'm just trying to minimize the number of times we get it for her from the floor. It doesn't sound like it's a problem from the limited results i'm getting on the internet, but I wanted to post here to see if anyone knows anything, or has done this.

Thanks in advance,
A tired mama

Not sure about the bumper issue, we never used one for safety reasons, but both my boys used pacifiers and would wake up in the middle of the night to find one in the crib.

We just tossed a bunch of them in the crib, and they would always find one.

Thanks, yeah, I had hoped that would help. I should have mentioned we do put in an extra 3. She generally either knocks them all out within a few hours, or simply cannot find the extra(s).

I had been putting more in but she was waking more, and i attributed it to rolling over on top of them and it being uncomfortable. Maybe I'll try more again.

What about a breathable bumper? Also you can get one of those stuffed animal things that attaches to a pacifier so it's harder for her to throw out and easier for her to find.

We have a Breathable Bumper as well. It does help keep pacis in, but not completely. There are still openings at one or two corners where the pacifier can fall out.

At 11 months, I would be comfortable putting the bumpers back in the crib. They do help keep the pacis in there. :)

we use the breathable bumper, it works wonders for the paci and is safe
