I am in the market for a new double stroller for plane travel. I am torn between buying one here in Germany (Koelstra Simba twin) or ordering one in the States and having it delivered to my parents. I don't necessarily need one for the flight over because DH will be flying with me and the 3 boys. I need something lightweight, with full recline, an easy fold, easy to steer, and something that's not too expensive if the airline destroys it. Are there any double umbrella strollers that fit the bill? BTW we have an Aria twin and I hate the thing. The fold is great, but the rest blah.

Thanks.

I've never heard of the brand, had to google it. It looks like the (single) Inglesina swift, same design seat, same black frame. I have no clue about the push or features as recline etc. You don't like Maclarens?

I guess I was a little unclear. I'm open to ordering a different brand from the States. My very first stroller was a Maclaren and the hood broke off. I haven't looked at them since.
Thanks.

i have heard terrible things about the mac doubles (singles are great, doubles, not so much).

for a great lightweight double, get the bjcmd. but if you just want something inexpensive, for minimal use, you could try the inglesina (http://www.albeebaby.com/inglesina-twin-swift-double-stroller-2009-blu-notte.html?utm_source=Google_Products&utm_medium=cse&utm_campaign=GoogleProducts)or something that you can get europe (sorry, i don't know what). there used to be the esprit sun speed duo, but i don't think it is available anymore. although, i'm not sure that any of these would be so much better than the aria to make it worth spending the money. the problem with double umbrellas is that they don't steer one-handed and you are likely to constantly kick the center back wheel.

if you are going to buy something, it should be something worth spending the money on, like the bjcmd.

Combi makes a double, although I don't know anything about it.

I agree with pp though, the BJCMD would be worth the cost. If you have it sent directly to your parents, you don't have to worry about the airline ruining it.

ETA: Jeep also makes a double
