DH's cousin is about to have her second boy. I want to send a gift for DS#1 who is 2 1/2 years old. She is well off and has a lot family near her with similar aged kids so her DS has a lot already. Would love some gift ideas that are a little unusual, cool, different. This board is great with ideas like that. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

How much do you want to spend?

I prefer to spend under $50 but would go as high as $75 if it was something really great.

Right now I am finding one of the best toys I have ever bought is the melissa and doug farm animal cube puzzle. I got it when my son was going on 3, and my girls are now going on 3 and it is one of their favorite things to do. They need a lot of help of course but it's something we can do together that is a lot of fun.

Something we got them for christmas they are really enjoying is this:

Magnatiles! You could get the 32 piece set or the 48 piece DX set in that price range. Thier working trucks are fun too (but do have a few small pieces that may need put away).

magnatiles.com ("ableplay" should give you 15% off your order)

I don't have my own idea but my girls and their boy friends all like the lauri stacking toy in the prior post. We have a smaller set and I've had that bigger one on my list. It's one of those toys that has never been put away since we got it 5 years ago and both kids enjoy it (I have 2 and 7 year old- of course more for 2 year old now)
