Blood blister inside cheek?

Does anyone get these. Out of the blue, I noticed a bump on my inner cheek. I looked in the mirror, and there's a dark red bump that looks like a blood blister. It's about the diameter of a choc chip. I don't have oral herpes as far as I know, so I don't know what else it could be. I don't remember biting my cheek, but it happens to me, so I wouldn't doubt that some trauma caused a blister. I'm trying not to go to oral cancer. My plan now is to wait to see if it goes away (aka blood blister) before going to the doc (dentist or derm?)

I had one on the tip of my tongue (underside) that appeared literally overnight. It was annoying and tender for about 2 weeks and then disappeared as quickly as it came.

Thanks. I'm going to let it go for a week and see what happens. I was just at the dentist and he didn't say anything, so I'm assuming I didn't have it then, and it just popped up very recently.
