I have a lot of plastic and glass mixing bowls that I hate. So I got a new one for Christmas, the big Emile Henry. But before I use it I want to see if there are others I should consider? What kind(s) do you have and do you love it/them? I like a tall bowl with a wide base.

I have an extensive collection of pyrex mixing bowls. My favorite are the "cinderella" style, with spouts on each side:http://www.tias.com/stores/callahans/thumbs/pxcm057ba.jpg

Love how deep they are and have a grip on the bottom.

My mom had this set when we were growing up! She only has the biggest and smallest one now. I'd love to find a new set - do you know if they still make them?!

They aren't made anymore. I have found them at flea markets, thrift stores & yard sales. They also have a lot on eBay. I am always on the hunt!

You can find them in almost new condition - but don't put them in the dishwasher...

I basically have these but in pink. The grippers on the bottom are disintegrating even though I do not put them in the dishwasher or on a hot surface. They are about 7-8 years old and otherwise in good condition. I am thinking of trying to return them to WS. We have had another random plastic bowl of this type even longer and it does not have this problem. Another reason I hate these is I hate cleaning plastic bowls. I find it easier to get glass or pottery clean.

I had two awesome bowls when I lived with my sister. They were clear glass and very tall with plastic lids. I told her to keep them, but I wish I could find some like that. I think they were from Crate and Barrel but years ago and I have never seen anything like them since. We have some Pyrex but I find them too shallow for a lot of things I want to make. I am trying to cook and bake more in the new year and I have convinced myself that I will do so if I have more "tools" I love. :hysterical:

My mom gave us something similar to this Paula Dean bowl but ours has a handle and pour spout. Love how big and deep it is.

Wow flashback! My mom had these when I was a kid. Ours were orange and yellow to go with our olive green, orange, and yellow kitchen.
