2,000 with Thanks

This is my 2,000th post (sort of...this is my second user name.).

So, I want to say thanks.

I started posting (under the other user name!) in 2003. You guys got me through 2004 when I had a newborn and no friends with babies. When I think of the BBB, that is what I think of. Those lonely days when I had my "imaginary friends" (according to DH!).

So, thank you.

I took a break after Carmen was diagnosed because I was so emotional that I couldn't think of anything nice to post. I wasn't planning to come back.

When Hope was born and I needed something (maybe a stroller?) I hopped back on and got sucked right in. Interestingly, in many ways, 2010 was a very lonely year too.

Someone told me that I would lose a lot of friends while caring for and losing a child and they were right. It's too much for many to handle. I don't blame them. I know that I have reacted badly often out of pure stress and grief. My friends who have stuck around did so out of love.

So, thanks for being here once again. This is an interesting board full of interesting mommies (a few dads too!). We are all different and I've learned a LOT from you guys.

And my DH called the BBB ladies my imaginary friends too! Now that we've met a few in person (after being a member here for 7 years--what?!?!?) he's stopped saying that.

Glad you're here too. I remember when you bowed out when Carmen was so sick, and I remember thinking about what a strong mom you were (and are)!

I didn't "know you" well when you left but I always thought about you, Carmen, and the rest of your family a lot. I was soo happy when someone posted your blog here during Carmen's last days. My hugs and prayers are there for you at all times, and I too am glad you decided to come back to the boards.
