I have a friend who I am helping register at BBB. I used the FP Healthy Care Booster Seat for DS. She doesn't have the extra chair and wants a free standing one. She prefers something neutral and doesn't want a Tripp Trapp. Any Recs?

We love our Boon highchair. I've written pros and cons about it on a few different threads in the past. Its a great chair! Try doing a search for Boon.

How about the Fisher price high chair? We had the rainforest one- and it was great with DD- we moved her to a booster around the age of 2- which was about a year ago!

If she wants something neutral- maybe FP has something a little less wild? DD always loved the crazy prints of her HC- :tongue5:

We've loved our free-standing Peg Perego Prima Diner in oatmeal. We actually have 2. One is at the ILs' house. I like the way it blends in visually with our walls and is a good backdrop in those gross eating photos.

I know the review are mixed but SIL has the Eddie Bauer one and loves it.

I had an older version of this Baby Trend one. I thought it was great and got a real good resale price when I resold it when it was 4+ years old. Cheap and good resale are plus for me ;)

I had two for DD - FP Healthy Care Highchair and the Peg Prima Diner. I love my FP, its easy to use and cleans up well. The rainforest print is a little loud but DD loves it and I think its cute. I think they offer some patterns that aren't as loud but I have no idea. I got it used on CL for @$25. Same day I bought the FP a friend gave me her Peg, which I hated. It was an older one so maybe the new ones are easier but I found it to be impossible to use. My only FP complaint is that it doesn't lock folded so it can be tough to deal with but I rarely fold it anyway.

We have the Graco Contempo. In general, it's a good high chair.

However, DD is an extremely messy eater, and it has tons of cracks and crevices for food to get into. So I recommend it with caveats. I think for typical kids it is just fine. It's a good price, adjustable, has a removable tray insert, adjustable 5-point harness, tons of patterns and colors to choose from.

We have a wood high chair, a classic style one that my parents got for us. But if they had not gotten us that one I would've gone with either the Fisher Price one, or the Peg Perego one. I have heard a million times over how great both brands are from people here, and IRL. If it had been out in 2006 we most likely would've looked at the Boon one too, but really the Peg one was at the top of our price range already.

We had a peg perego briefly and I absolutley hated it. We ended up using the FP booster with the tray... I think our dining room chairs were only $25 each at Ikea, then the FP booster was $25 or 30... You can always use another chair at some point. :)

She ended up choosing the Anka by Svan. Anyone have experience with it?

I just read the one review in the link - the straps don't come off??? That would be a deal breaker for me. I actually removed the straps from my FP chair because they got SO gross and were so hard to clean (and really not necassary)

I like the final paragraph - we were naive about how messy our baby would be. :ROTFLMAO: Aren't we all?
