Rep. Joe Wilson's (R-S.C.) health care-era "you lie" interruption of President Obama is now reportedly being commemorated with a place on a new, limited edition line of assault rifle components.
The Columbia Free Times reports (http://www.free-times.com/index.php?cat=1992209084141467&act=post&pid=11861101110850039) that the words are being engraved on a series of lower receivers manufactured for popular AR-15 assault rifles. Lower receivers are one of the primary pieces of the firearms.

Ugh. That is INSANE. I don't even want to connect the dots on that one, after the Giffords shooting. Joe Wilson should condemn this.

:yeahthat: It does sound particularly bizzare in light of the media coverage of the Palin "targeting" issue. I do not think the incident in AZ had anything to do with Palin, but stuff like marketing a gun with a political agenda does nothing to tone down the rhetoric. Not very cool IMO.

Meanwhile, South Carolina Democratic Congressman Jim Clyburn of Columbia said he believes that conservative Nevada candidate Sharron Angle’s suggestion of “Second Amendment remedies” in her unsuccessful campaign against Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid contributed to the killing spree in Arizona.
“It seems like this gentleman was not satisfied with the way the election came out,” Clyburn said of the gunman, identified as Jared Lee Loughner. “There’s no way you cannot make that connection (with Angle’s rhetoric) unless you want to be stupid.”
