I knew this day would come, and I prepared for it by jumping on a great deal for a Frontier. But, I thought I had at least one more month before I had to switch him to his new seat since he weighed in at 34.1 lbs at his 4 year check up on the 6th. But, when I weighed Bryan last night before bed (in his jammies, on a full tummy) he was 35.5 lbs. Now, our scale will estimate up that half pound, so I decided to weigh him again in the morning. I got him dressed without shoes and no breakfast and it said 35.5 lbs. I borrowed the neighbors scale (they're into fitness big time and it will even tell you how much is fat, lol) and it wavers between 35 and 35.2 lbs.

So, if I'm not mistaken, that means that today will be Bryan's last day rear facing. Knowing did not prepare me emotionally and I want to cry! At least we made it to my goal of keeping him rear facing until he turned 4! I'll post pictures later today.....

UPDATE: Here are the pictures!

I totally know how you feel. DS has about one pound to go before the RF limit of his Blvd. I get so sad thinking about it. I don't see him making it more than a couple months after his 3rd birthday.

But congrats on keeping him RF until 4! That's amazing. :cheerleader1:

He's adorable! And he looks like a really happy kid!

BTW, we have the same cover for our Blvd... and DS used to have the same shoes when he was younger!

Adorable! Might want to get one of those kick mats or a cheap apron to hang on your front seat, now that you'll be able to experience the 'joy' of a big kicking your seatback :tongue5:

And, I think you'll be fairly thrilled with how easy it is to install the BV FF, the only pain can be diving down back in the back to find the top tether anchor.

(((((HUGS))))...I've turned my big girls FF at nice old ages, and I remember the bittersweet feeling well :grouphug:

Bryan is actually in his brother's car seat because he passed the 33 lb weight limit on his own BlVD several months back. So, now I can switch Brennan back to his own car seat, lol. Oh, and Bryan just got those new shoes, lmbo!

Ugh, yeah, definitely going to need a kick mat! Unless he still keeps to what he does rear facing and just takes his shoes off as soon as he's in the car. :/ He shouldn't be in the BLVD FF'ing long in my car since we just bought the Frontier 85 from that strollers.com sale. But, it will go in my hubby's Jeep and it will be handy having those lock-offs on the seat and the top tether anchor in the Jeep is through what passes for a trunk.

I guess I need to make sure he hasn't outgrown the harness height on the BLVD FF'g now too. I know he's totally outgrown his Cosco Scenera--found that out when we used to during our trip to Georgia. :(

Congratulations on keeping him RF for so long! I totally understand the sad feeling as our RF days are coming to an end. DD is getting close to the weight limit of her seat, and it's questionable if we'll make it another 2 months to get to 3 years.

Congratulations! Jease if I had kept DD1 rear facing she would've made it to right around 3.5 or 4. Now I have a goal for #2.

Thanks for all the compliments on his cuteness and happy factor! :) He is a happy guy and has enjoyed being rear facing...cuteness comes from his Dad though. ;)

Good luck making it to the 3 year mark! It is really bittersweet having to turn him, I know he likes rear facing and I was really hoping to keep him rear facing until the baby was born in April. The sweet part of it is that he's healthy, happy, and we've managed to keep him rear facing longer than many parents have ever considered.

Good luck with your second baby! I'm sure the time will fly by for you like it did for me, lol!
