Mine is Seth Rogan:bag.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/76/SethRogen_7_2007.JPG/220px-SethRogen_7_2007.JPG
He was on the radio this morning promoting The Green Hornet and I realized oh my I really like him and if he asked single me out IRL I would definitely go out with him at least once.

He's not as nerdy looking as Seth, but I guess you could consider John Krasinksi this too because he isn't really mainstream either (I mean he isn't like Ryan Reynolds who is on E News Live a lot, kwim?).

I also have this really odd fascination with Jeremy Clarkson from BBC's Top Gear (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/b9/Jeremy_Clarkson.jpg/200px-), and now Tanner Foust from History Channel's Top Gear (http://tannerfoust.com/main.jpg) (he's also well known in the drifting, and stunt car driving scene).

In the same vein, I LOVE Conan O'Brien! My roommates and I would always request/wait in line for tickets to his show back in college, and one day we got to meet him and I was was freaking out--I didn't hear the end of that one for a long time, LOL.

I think mine has to be Edward Norton. :love-retry::love-retry::love-retry:

Love him. Love his acting. Love him. Love that I don't hear about him in the tabloids ever. Ahhhh. Let the day dreaming commence...

One that I don't have a crush on (well, because he's just too young!) but I think he's so cute and adorable to watch is Michael Cera

Wanted to correct you here. Seth Rogen is in The Green Hornet - a kung-fu/action flick. It looks like it's going to be a lot of fun.

The Green Lantern is a DC superhero movie coming out soon starring Ryan Reynolds. It looks like it's going to be a pile of donkey doo.

I would not consider Edward Norton unconventional. I think he is typically considered pretty good looking. Don't get me wrong, he warrants the crush. ITA. I. TOTALLY. AGREE. (ahhemmm...need to take a breath now....) But I would disagree that he is "unconventional".

How did I forget about him :shake:?! I love him, and he is my main reason for watching the show, although John Hamm is a close second, but I have to be a little off kilter and not love the guy everybody else loves (just like the whole Ben Affleck vs. Matt Damon thing; I think I'd go with Ben if given the choice!)

I am tempted to go back and change the title of poll back to geeky, which is what I originally was going to title it!

There is no way that I would call Ewan Macgregor, Ed Norton, Neil Patrick Harris, or really even Ed Burns unconventional. Seth Rogan, yes because he's just a geek, and John Slattery yes because of the silver hair, and he is not in his mid 60s.

Twin Foxes, I do hear you on Vladimir Putin too, he reminds of Sark (David Anders) from the TV show Alias.

Daniel Tosh (Tosh.0) he counts as unconventional because he doesn't seem to care much about ladies.

Adam Scott (Amy Poehlers new love interest on Parks & Rec.) he counts as unconventional because I don't think he is super well known and I have had a crush on him since he played Mr. Rooks, the creepy teacher on Veronica Mars.

If someone can honestly tell me the name of Ryan Reynolds since his first TV show in the US (without looking it up on the internet), then yes he can be unconventional, but if you didn't know who he was until he married Scarlett Johansen then no it doesn't count. If someone can honestly tell me the name of Ryan Reynolds since his first TV show in the US (without looking it up on the internet), then yes he can be unconventional, but if you didn't know who he was until he married Scarlett Johansen then no it doesn't count.

Was it Two Guys a Girl and a Pizza Place? Because that's when my crush began.

I get scared looking at him. It's not what people may think: lips. It's that his legs are so darn skinny, he reminds me of a live Gumby!

I'm not a Steven Tyler fan, but my ultimate crush is very Stephen Tylerish. He wouldn't be unconventional in some circles, but I'm guessing he is here:

I'll list a few cuz I'm not sure if any are defined as unconventional. I think they're all quite attractive which is why I'm not sure they count, but they're generally not thought of as sex symbols.

Tina Fey
Sarah Silverman
Chelsea Handler (pre-plastic surgery)
Ellen Page

and most embarrassing of all: Kristin Stewart. Think she's annoying as hell but just find her so pretty. For the others, I like the whole package.

I'm glad Ryan Reynolds and Nathan Fillion are getting some love. I never understood why RR was never a big star and sex symbol. NF is just a freaking awesome actor and seems like he could be a sex symbol from a guy's point of view (I don't fully understand Johnny Depp or Joaquin Phoenix being so drooled over).

Nathan Fillion wasn't the roommate he was the boyfriend of Sharon, who Berg secretly had a thing for but never really admitted it IIRC.

I am glad you cleared that up, because I was starting to get very confused!

Now I have read the whole thread, I have to say that I don't think very many of these are unconventional!

I think I put Spike Spiegel on the older thread (and fictional anime characters count as unconventional in my book - especially from someone who doesn't watch much anime!)

Also Tim Roth. I think he counts as unconventional...

I will think of more!

I had to go with Joe Biden. When I see him, I think this:

:bag I had a total mind fart, and for some reason I read your OP as Joe Lieberman. I'd like to say, I totally know the difference, and have met Lieberman...Biden is so much more understandable!

I think I should get points for honesty!

I don't fully understand Johnny Depp or Joaquin Phoenix being so drooled over.

And I watched him in that show! And liked it....now , that's unconventional

I loved that show, but do you remember him before that? He was in some show, it made me think of the orginal Degrassi (all Canadian). And then he was in the original Melissa Joan Hart Sabrina movie. He was the jerk she wanted to date.

Steve Martin

I have had a crush on him since I was a little kid and saw "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid" in the movie theater. I grew up in Terre Haute and we disliked living there and my family thought it was brilliant that he blew TH up. I have likely seen LA Story 100 times or more. That man's comedic timing is brilliant and I love that he is so deep and intectual IRL. My very first BF ever actual looked (and still does) like Steve Martin.

Yes! He does funny things to my insides :heartbeat:

Here are a few more:
-I've always been a big fan of Hugh Laurie, but I was never attracted to him until House.
-Zachary Quinto as Spock. Hot Spock, who knew? Little does DH know why I could watch that movie over and over again.
-Also, I'll second or third whoever said Matthew Gray Gubler in Criminal Minds. Between hot geek and just plain hot Shemar Moore I hardly know where to look :)

Now wait a minute! These people aren't unconventional! I reveal my long hidden Putin crush, and people are saying Mike Rowe??? And Ryan Reynolds?? He is the Sexiest Man Alive for Pete's sake. What exactly makes him unconventional?? :irked:

So I don't look like a complete oddball, my real crush is Daniel Craig. And LL Cool J. And Jason Bourne (Matt Damon, but only when he's JB).

But if I had to come up with an UNCONVENTIONAL crush, it's Putin.

I think you win with Putin in terms of unconventional. Or maybe veronica does with Joe Biden. ;)

I second LL Cool J and MD/JB for conventional. :heartbeat:

Yeah. I hear you on that one. When I found out a few years ago that he learned to play golf at the golf course 3/4 of a mile from my house, and that he went to high school in a neighboring city to where I live now I was cursing my parents for not moving to So Cal when I was growing up. Despite his infedilities I still kind of like him because he is from my current hometown area.

Michael Kitchen from Foyle's War (British Mystery Series, shows on PBS). Though it's not so much a crush on the actor, as the character ... specifically his voice.

Please don't go and hide fellow sports fan:). I have always found Peyton Manning oddly attractive (although Tom Brady even with the long hair is way better looking) I am oddly attracted to the afternoon sports radio team of Mason & Ireland on 710 ESPN in Los Angeles. Dan Akroyd... maybe not so much now but in the ghostbusters era... so cuddly looking.

You'd love my DH...he's often told he looks like Dan Aykroyd (back in the Ghostbuster Days).

I'm with those of you who crush on Anderson Cooper, Christopher Meloni, and Hugh Laurie...and I've had a crush on John Slattery since he was on Homefront in the early 90s.

And for the Alan Alda fans, my M*A*S*H crush wasn't him, but Wayne Rogers.
