When I was in the toy section today I was told by an employee that tomorrow (Thurs) they'd do more markdowns. He was marking down sporting goods today.

At our store, they did Christmas markdowns for 75% on a Thursday. I don't know if this means anything as far as toy markdowns go though.

I wasn't sure if it's better to go in the morning or in the afternoon. Do they mark down overnight or go through during the day?

Most Targets mark toys on Thursdays. Depends on the store how they do it. The ones around here work on them throughout the morning. Which is super annoying when I go early and they aren't through most of them yet, so I don't know what is what.

I really need toys for girls for the gift closet. For say a 4 to 7 year olds. Any ideas. I think I remember someone saying polly pocket toys. I will also look for Liv dolls- anything else?

I live in an area with multiple Targets and Thursday is the toy markdown day for all of them.
I'm always there too early too and they are in the middle of doing the md's. I'll have to remember to go in the afternoon!

Polly Pockets is what I was hoping to get for my gift closet...maybe some princess stuff if they have ?... and for boys starwars legos. I saw this barbie furniture maybe I will get that one for my 3 & 5 yr odl girl, since I couldn't get the barbie house on thanksgiving it was selling in HEB ( austin Tx) for 100.
I will not have to dig out any snow.. thank God.. but I will have to deal with a 3yr who never want to wear a jacket or a sweater and rather freeze...
thanks for all your help.. I will go today!!!

I have found that Lego rarely lasts until 75%...most of it is gone at the 50% point and that is when I would pick it up. I think that's why Target has Lego on a slightly different schedule b/c it will sell at 50% off.

That's why I went ahead and bought a set for DS1's B-day. I was bummed that the big Kingdom sets were gone though. I really wanted to get one of those half off.
I did get a kid digital video camera for $11.24, Littlest Pet Shop hat box $7.12, some V-smile games at $3.74. There was one of those Caveman things left for $21, but I couldn't convince myself that we needed that. Really lots of stuff, but I tried to just get things for birthdays and not overdo it.

At 11am one of my stores still hadn't gone to 75% off. No one was around looking like they were going to start markdowns either. The second store I hit was 75% off and people were going crazy!! I may have gone a little crazy myself. Especially since my DS is just turning 6 months next week and most of the things I got are for 18+ months... :bag
Planning to check another Target after naptime and go back to the first this evening hoping they've caught up.

I happened to be in target when they were doing the 75% markdowns. A lot of people were going crazy.
I feel like I showed restraint...
- I got two Barbies for $5
- Zippity System for $19.99
- Some tinkerbell dress-up headpieces for about $2.50
I saw a train table for $19.99 (w/o train) but didnt' get it b/c we don't really have the room and I have two girls who aren't overly into trains
There was also 1 lego activity table
Lots of polly pocket, some barbies, some Circo brand type duplo blocks, some Fisher Price and Circo baby dolls, U-build mousetrap game, nerf guns, etc...
Debating going to a target by work to look for Liv Dolls

Hardly anyone was shopping at our Target.
I got:
Lego Space Police central for $39.98 - 50% off
World Racers Gator swamp -$19.98 - 50% off
Star wars light saber lamp - $4.98
Star wars Force Trainer - $24.98
Rescue pet mommy with 2 puppies - $6.24
I also saw a Lionel train Polar Express for $14+. I was tempted but the kids are no longer interested in trains. There were a lot of polly pockets too but we were not interested in this.
Have fun shopping!

We just got back and ours went to 75% this morning
The big thing I got was the Star Wars Science Force Trainer for $24.99 (reg $99.99) It gets so-so reviews on Amazon but Ds1 played with it at a friend's house and has been begging for one!!! For this price, I grabbed it for his birthday http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Science-Force-Trainer/dp/B001UZHASY
Also a Fur-Real white lion cub for $8.47, a Matchbox car customizing kit for $5.xx, a mini robot panda for $1.48 and a couple of Tag books for $3.48.
Lots of Legos left at 50% off but we have pretty much all the sets that were on clearance :bag

You guys are KILLING ME with the $19.98 train table. I hit one Target today and it was pretty much wiped .. several women there filling their carts. I picked up three Thomas trains for $4-5. I'm gong to stop at another one on my way home and keep my fingers crossed that one of the two train tables that was there earlier in the week is still there. I'm not overly optimistic.

Carrots and Billysmom, which Targets were you at? So I can skip them, sounds like they are cleared out, LOL!!
I was in Milford and got the Star Wars Action Figure set for $12.xx was $50. Also one lone Lego City set $19.98 was $39.99.
I saw they also had kid rolling suitcase set for $7.xx (suitcase, pull-string backpack, toiletry bag), orig $29.99.
Milford is doing renovations, so I think that's why there was seriously NOTHING in there.

we needed a brita filter this morning-- i was NOT going to hit this sale- nononononono. i showed lots of restraint at the first target, well, my child did-- every time i'd pick something else, she'd said "no thank you mommy" and then after she said that about a talking james engine and i said "well, someone else will be delighted" she would say to everything "some other child will be delighted mommy!" so we went and got our brita and left. i felt so virtuous... i really did :)
oh wait, we did pick up a bunch of trumpette holiday socks, finally 75% off :) i like stashing those for presents and thought they might make good "shoes" for her bambo doll (they had TONS of this stuff-- mostly unmarked) i may have gone over board with those.
then we hit another target- they had lots of different stuff from the first store--we got leapfrog zippity, a scottie dog tin teaset (that was for mama :)), an angelina "polly pocket" figure, a fancy nancy dressup dress, fancy nancy dressupslippers, a tinkerbell headpiece (we're having a fairy birthday tomorrow), a 20pk of matchbox cars, a "fur" dressup shawl... i think that's it. i left alot of things that were tempting-- drawbridge/train set (this was 10.50), blocks in a pull cart (2.50, wish i'd bought a couple of these as baby favors for tomorrow...didn't think of it until we'd left), baby doll care center, fisher price doll that sits up and walks, some toy pans (the red ones... i've never seen them 75% until today, and , for once in my life i didn't buy every playfood thing they had!!! they also had the cookie tube & an incomplete sugar & spice tube), the learning resources sundae game.
after this we were pretty starving we hit chik fil a and my kid really needed a nap. i started thinking about the doll set that i passed up at the first store-- they had a billion of them--it was circo-- a "talking" doll , a carrier, 2 extra outfits, a diaper bag w/bottle, cellphone, diaper, blanket, 2 little toys....it was 7 dollars. i thought "that would be perfect as a permanant car toy"....but we skipped it. i showed it to lucy and she was all "no thank you, some other girl will be delighted." then of course, after lunch, i thought... we'd really make use of that doll. even the outfits are like 10 dollars a piece, EVEN at target... we LOVE outfits around here ;) (i know i've talked about this before)....sure, they are cheapy, but they are cute. and a carrier? that's cute for the car right?
so we went by on the way home... out of the 10 or so from this morning, they had 2 sets left-- african american (we live in a pretty nondiverse county)--the one i expected would be there(she had weird green stuff on her) and OUR "grace." we named her while stood in line. the cute surprise about this doll is that she sighs contentedly when you put her pacifier in...her "crying" sound is pretty horrible, but my child sorta liked it (she has a weird sense of humor), but she'll blissfully switch to the sigh , even mid cry when you stick that paci in-- BLISS. it's really sweet.
these sets also are called "winter" baby, but have a "bunny" theme in of course pink/lightpurple that would be adorable for easter. our doll was immediately liberated from her box (it's HUGE) so i think even DH will be okay with it :) 7 bucks-- can't beat it as long as i don't start thinking about the "true" cost. ack!

So I went to the TArget by work and was thinking of actually getting the train table i passed up this morning and maybe the fisher price customizable play center I'd seen at the other target - this one was much more picked over, so it wasn't maant to be
Just got
- 2 polly pocket sets (maybe for bday party gifts)
- a polly pocket sleeve type thing with a doll and outfit
- 2 tinkerbell movie fairies with the little plastic outfits (future easter basket or stocking stuffers for my girls)
- a dippin dots kit
- the circo sugar and spice play kitchen accessories
Feeling a little sad that I did not get the train table or customizable play center this morning - but we really don't have the room

One local store didn't have any when I went today, but another area store shows limited availability when I plug in this number. I'm guessing by the time I would pile the kids in the car and get there that it would be OOS, though, right? Sometimes those availability things aren't even up to date are they? I'm afraid to call, because the salesperson might decide to snatch it up if it is there! Do you think they would put one on hold for me if I say I'm coming up within the hour? I'd love to get the track sets people are saying they found also. Anyone have the item number to check the availability on that?

I knew that would happen! I work right there and that's the Target I normally go to (and have great luck at). But I had a doctor's appointment in the city today so worked from home. I checked out Clifton and North Bergen and neither had marked down to 75%. Thanks for the intel though.
Aside: do you guys think they will mark down later today (and therefore be at 75% off tomorrow)?
They were in the process of marking things down today. Most people, including me filled our carts with stuff that had NOT yet been marked down, then went over to a SA and they were marking the stuff in our carts. So even if you find something you may want to double check with them in case they skipped over it, cos those isles are a mess ( I feel sorry for the SA's).

I was just at both a couple days ago and there were lots of stuff! Luckily, I bought DS what I really wanted at 50% off and he does not need anything else. I did stop by the sporting goods dept, and lo and behold, I saw the Leapfrog Zippity lying by it's lone self, obviously in the wrong area......SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I rushed over to my Target in central PA after work, and I'm so glad I went when I did. I was just there yesterday and the clearance aisles were full at 30-50% off. Everything was marked down to 75%, and half the stuff was gone. I got some good scores, most of what the toys I got were the last ones of their kind left! I filled my cart, so I made out pretty well. The only thing I couldn't find was the Imaginext Big Foot. The inventory said it was in stock, but it never was in the clearance aisles, or w/the other Imaginext
toys. I wasted 10 min. going up & down every aisle searching for it.
Some of the biggest deals:
Ultimate Buzz Lightyear: $24.98 (marked down from $100!)
TS3 Mega Rig Western train set: $9.98
Thomas the Train Rock & roll quarry: $9.98
We did it Dancing Dora doll: $9.98
TS3 Tag Bundle: $11.24
Tickle Baby Elmo: $7.48
B. Toys H2 Whoa drawing board: $4.48
Also got some MegaBloks sets, Alex bath toys, and little Thomas the trains. There was virtually no Lego sets left. :(

I didn't look - since DDs need NOTHING!!! ;) But I feel like there was very very little. There were a few of those pop-up play tents, I think there were two, one blue colors and one pink colors. And Disney Princess pop up tent. But otherwise it was slim pickings.
It would be worth a ride over if you're in the area, in case they re-org tonight. And you could hit up staples for crayons/markers if they are still there... :bouncy:

Most of my stuff were in aisles with the 75% off sign but were not marked as such yet. I had to do a price scan to confirm before checking out.
Oh - I also got the Spinaroos (http://www.imaginetoys.com/store/p/4134--Spinaroos.html?gclid=CIL2uOf8uKYCFQFM5QodBTvEHQ) for less than $7.00. Although, I managed to get nothing! Except one set of SkipBo Jr. card game, $2.xx. DDs are very into card games for some reason.
got a ton of LPS stuff. cute and for less than $5 for multiple sets, you really can't go wrong.
anyone have thoughts on Orbeez? are they total junk?
how about the Our Generation fabric dollhouse? figured it may be cute for the AG dolls but is it totally pointless?

I got the doll house, haven't put it together yet (saving it for... I don't know what! ;)) But, of course it's pointless!!! :ROTFLMAO:
DDs got an AG size table/chair set from Santa, I'm hoping that will fit in the house.

I am thinking about it. It's going to be another "thing" we have, taking up space, KWIM? They will use it, but it will just be sitting there a lot of the time...
But they'll probably love it when they are using it.

Well, this thread makes me feel better about the 2 Lego sets I bought over the last couple days!!! LOL!! I was thinking they should have been 50% off.
My store in PG County MD still had a LOT yesterday and was mostly 75% off.

I broke down and went this morning. My store was wiped out, which is fine because I didn't need anything!!
I remember the good old days when only a handful of people knew about the sale, now I guess people are buying a lot for resell....Bummer.

I just got back from the Framingham, MA Target. My big score was the Lego play table for $19.xx (75% off). I didn't see it until I went through the toy section the second time. It was still on those big carts so they must have just taken them out of the warehouse. A lady took one, and I took one, and the SA put the last one on the shelf. I was just thinking the other day how it would be really nice to have a table for the boys to play with their legos on. They usually play on the floor but pieces get everywhere. So I'm really excited. :)
Most everything was 75% off but some stuff still rang at 50% off. I picked up 2 Learning Resources games and a small RC car at 75% off. The Playdoh breakfast set was only 50% off so I passed on that. The only Legos left at 50% off were the Hero Factory line and there were lots of those. It was fairly busy there this morning.

I was at my Target on wednesday and there were 6 train tables but they were only 30% off. I've been sick all week and wasn't able to make it there yesterday so I went this morning and there were maybe 10 things total amongst the 2 clearance aisles and no train tables. Apparently yesterday they were ransacked. I was so bummed.

Went back to my Target this morning, after getting a cartload last night. I was in a rush then, so I wanted to look a little deeper and to see if there was anything left. It was almost wiped out. There had been 2 1/2 aisles of clearance, and 2 aisles were totally bare. I still found some stuff to buy though for my gift closet. :)
2 Lego sets, still at 50% off. Lego Atlantis at $9.98, and Creator at $14.98
Fancy Nancy Purse & sunglasses - $2.48
Buzz Lightyear gauntlet blaster - $7.48
Handy Manny Tag book - $3.48
Space slumber pack - $5.48
There was a lot of stuff for 50% in the sporting goods section: kid's sleeping bags, sports equipment, scooters, etc.
I discovered I could write down the DPCI's of the stuff I wanted and type it into the price scanners-- and it would tell me if it was in stock & what aisle it was in. That was kind of helpful.
Has anyone else been using the Target clearance locator and having a problem searching DCPI's? It often comes up as inventory info unavailable, even if I copy & paste the number. But if I put in the ASIN, that works.

I just wanted to share my story. I went tonight with DH and DCs in tow after work. I wanted to go last night but DH was feeling awful so we didn't end up going. Last week there were 2 1/2 aisles of clearance. When I got there, the first aisle was bare and the second aisle was pretty picked over. I was in search of some disney cars stuff for DS1. I found 2 die cast car sets (can't believe they were originally $29.99!!!). I saw a lady there with a full cart load of stuff. She had a big lightening mcqueen car that DS1 wanted before xmas. I asked her where she found it and she very rudely told me it was the last one. So, we looked again for a little while and this lady was picking up more toys and chatting on the phone. She picked up a thomas that was apparently broken and still put it in her cart. I glanced over and noticed that she had the learning resources ice cream game I have been eyeing for weeks!! I was so mad! If only we had gotten there earlier or went on TR night!! I whispered to my DH that I really wanted that game for DS1. The lady walked away down another aisle, chatting away. We were all ready to leave and I just glanced down the aisle where the lady was headed and noticed that she had disposed of the learning resources game in the middle of the aisle. I was so psyched!! I ran over and picked it up. On the way to the cash registers, DH asked whether she dumped the game because she didn't want it or because it fell out of her cart. I definitely feel like I scored big time and lucked out. I love that feeling!!! :love5:

Not 75% off yet, only 50%, but our target had a ton of the Disney Princess indoor play huts/tents. They had the ones that were just square huts (if that makes sense) - for 9.99- and others with a little tunnel into the hut for 14.99. There were a couple of the Toy Story Buzz Lightyear ones as well, and good amount of Dora ones too.

The Target I went to yesterday had several aisles of stuff, most at 75% off. Seemed like a much bigger selection than the usual store I go to. Unfortunately, I didn't see the Circo train sets I was really looking for. I didn't look very long outside of clearance, though. It's possible they were hiding in the aisle with regular-priced train stuff.
I think the SAs must have forgotten to put prices on a bunch of stuff. There were a lot of toys sitting on the clearance shelves without any prices at all, and when I did price checks, they rang up full price.
I ended up getting a Tag Jr. book for $2.67, a Transformers full costume with mask for $3.+ (I figured fun for dress-up if not next Halloween), Leapfrog Zippity for $20, and a Liv doll for $3.+ (for gift closet). This store had a lot of Liv dolls left. They are cute. There was an excited mom and daughter checking them out while I was there.
Unsure whether I want to keep the Zippity. Reviews on amazon seem very mixed, with many unfavorable. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is it worth it, considering we already have the Clickstart, Leapster, and Tag systems? I'm wondering if I should put that $20 toward Clickstart games, as we only have one so far.
Shop on, mates!

I went on Thursday to Framingham Target, but only had about 15 minutes and had 3 kids in tow, the toy section was already picked over but I found Rocket Tent for $2.98, 2 Polly Pocket sets for $7.48, a Penguin shuffleboard set, little Robo Panda and dinasours for $1.98 and Star Wars voice changer mask for $7.XX and a few other items.
When I was reviewing my receipt, I noticed one item was marked 75%, but I was charged at the 50% price. I went that night to Westboro (but they said to correct the price need to go back to the store I bought the items in), but bought a few Learning Resources games (ice cream and gears 75% off).
Last night, even though Framingham was pretty much cleared out, I found Star Wars mind game (reg 100 for $25 - there were still 2 left), Mega Blocks with 140 pieces for $7.48 and astronaut sleeping bags w/ carry case with light for $2.XX
Now, I think I am done with Target. The toys really did clear out fast this year!

my local Target is behind schedule, b/c I just stopped by earlier this morning & passed by the toy section's clearance aisles which were still relatively well stocked... apparently the 75% markdowns must have just been done b/c most everything I scanned was 75% off, even though the labels didn't show the most recent prices. I ended up purchasing the learning resources cash register supermarket playset for $7.xx, along with the Fisher Price little people discovery airport set for $9.xx and the Our Generation fabric doll house for $14.xx. The doll house may go back though.
I also saw the Circo train table for $19.xx and the Step2 new traditions kitchen for $19.xx...both of which I had to pass up, since we'll be moving again soon.

Tell me about it! My local Target has been OOS since before Christmas, as with every other store within an hour's drive. I would love one of these tables, even for 50% off.
I would check the Target clearance locator, to see if it's stock at the other store. IME, it's always been accurate. The ASIN is B002VHZYMO. http://trgt.me/
So this is frustrating: My local store has been showing limited availability on the clearance locator for the Circo train table for days. My DH went on Saturday and gave the DPCI number at Customer Service, and they said they don't have it. He looked anyway on the shelves and didn't see it anywhere. But it is still showing available on the clearance locator days later. Do you think the item is hidden somewhere in the store, like in the warehouse? Or does this store just somehow not update that clearance locator?

It's a mystery to me too! My local store was showing OOS for the train table one day last week. Then on Fri., I was checking for other nearby stores, it said limited availability-- but I couldn't get to Target that day. Checked again on Sat. morning...OOS again!
All I can think of is that maybe someone returned one, it took a while to get back on the shelves, where someone promptly bought it. Maybe an employee was hiding yours in the back somewhere, until they bought it?
I'm not sure how accurate the clearance locator is exactly. Everything else I've searched on it was right-- if it said Available, my local store had several of those items. If it said Limited Availability-- there was only 1 or 2 left.
I'd be interested to hear if they are the same price at your Target. These would be excellent birthday gifts for the 3-5 year old set. I would have bought more if there had been more than one in stock at my Target.
I went to see a friend in Jersey City yesterday, so stopped at the Target on the way. It rang up as full price there. Moreover, the clearance toys were still only 30-50% off (I scanned a few, including some that I bought at 75% off at Fairfield). So, no-go at Jersey City, but may still be available some where else since they are clearly on their own mark-down/price schedule....

If anyone has seen or bought the train table recently - how much is it going for now?

I got this 7 piece Andy's Toys Gift Pack for 98c -originally $49.99! It may actually be the one that I bought on Black Friday for $30 and returned a few weeks ago because we didn't end up giving it to our son because he received a full size Woody and Jessie and already had a Buzz. It was unmarked and in the Toy Story section.

I was at Target this morning and they had 1 aisle of random clearance items in the baby section. A lot of blankets, comforters, crib bedding sets, footed sleepers, all at 75% off. There was other random stuff too at 75%: Ministar booties, green Bjorns for $20.xx, pink stepstools, Baby legs for $2.xx, etc. They also had Graco cribs & changing tables, and safety gates on clearance in the endcaps.
I found a pair of Circo toddler boys pajamas for $1.74 in that section. They had a lot of clothes marked down to 75% too. I got DS a bunch of long sleeved tees & fleece pants for next fall/winter for $2.xx-$3.xx. Also, got this Cherokee 3 pc. outfit for $5.75. http://www.target.com/Infant-Toddler-Cherokee-Green-Plaid/dp/B003VKN9Y0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&searchView=grid5&keywords=cherokee%20set&fromGsearch=true&sr=1-1&qid=1295378361&rh=&searchRank=target104545&node=1038590&searchSize=30&sessionID=191-2847474-2625332&searchPage=1&searchNodeID=1038590&searchBinNameList=subjectbin%2Cprice%2Ctarget_com_ primary_color-bin%2Ctarget_com_size-bin%2Ctarget_com_brand-bin&frombrowse=0
I picked up a Maclaren Volo for $50 today! It was marked down 15% a week or so ago so I thought I would stop and check if it was marked down any more. It was down to 50% off. I've been wanting a lightweight travel stroller for a while so I finally pulled the trigger.

My Target (and this has to be the worst of all Targets) had almost nothing in the toy section, but a HUGE sale in the sporting goods.
$1.41 for practice bats/balls, $2.50ish for sleep-over kits (sleeping bag, backpack and headlamp), same for beanbag toss games, etc.

Mine still shows limited availability! It's the only Target in the area showing this. It has never gone completely OOS, yet the employees say they don't have it when you give the DPCI number. What gives? I still contend that maybe it is hidden in the store somewhere. How is that stupid clearance locator updated?

I needed to get out by myself so I went to Target at 10pm tonight. Found a graco pack-and-play for half off (bought for my best friend who's expecting) and the circo train table for 75% off. I know that they didn't have that last week so it must have been a return, but it didn't look like it had been opened. Brought it home, and DH was like... isn't that a bit old for DS? Umm.. yeah... I can buy Christmas presents eleven months early.

Give it to him for his second birthday! That's when our DS started on his Thomas love affair.
