So the thing I've been fearing most since giving birth to DD is finally here....princesses! Ugh! She loves to wear dresses and play princess. She got one princess dress for her birthday, and I want to get her a few more for her playdates. The Disney website is very $$$ and the cheapest I found was Target. Any suggestion of a good place/website to buy?
Thanks!
By far the best princess dress up clothes we've gotten are made by Little Adventures. They can be found on Amazon or my favorite place to get them is Little Dress Up Shop (http://www.littledressupshop.com/). They have free shipping and great customer service. They blow away the others. They are machine washable and very durable. They are also very easy to put on and off. My dd will be 7 tomorrow. We've had some of the dresses for 5 years and they are in nearly perfect shape. The same cannot be said for any other brand. Most are not machine washable and not comfy. These dresses are soft, not scratchy. I can't say enough about them. There do not cost anymore than the other brands, in fact often cheaper.

I bought my nieces a bunch of princess costumes on clearance at Target after Halloween. We got 5 different ones for $15.
I know that doesn't help you now, but you might keep it in mind for later.
Another recommendation for Little Adventures. The quality cannot be beat. They're the only ones my DD will wear without complaining.

Completely agree about Little Adventures...I wish I had known about them from the start. DD loves dress up clothes but always complained about the Target/ Disney store ones being itchy. She loves the Little Adventures ones and now saves her money to buy matching doll dresses.

My BB&B has some chests on clearance from xmas = $18. Orig $40 i think. Plus you can use 20% off coupon. Call your store and see if they have some. There was a separate shoe case too. not sure of the quality though.

Hi
I have seeing stuff in TJMAX, BigLots and Tuesday Morning, stuff like shoes, tutus, and just the whole tunk of dressup stuff... and but I know that in january the disney store online reduces their princess dressup.. my friend bought all of the dresses for cheap.. meaning 10dlls per dress..( these are 40-50 dlls dressup dresses...)....
good luck.. and make sure you take lots of pictures !.... :]

We have a mix of things from LIttle Adventures to Disney to some random thing from a garage sale. The best quality and the Little Adventures, but they're pricey, too. DD likes that they have no velcro and that her dolls can match. But, she also wears the ones from Target from after Halloween too. And we have a couple hand-me-down Disney store dresses that are beautiful.
We started with things from mom2mom sales and garage sales. Once she got picky about what she wanted to wear, I started buying more new and buy the Little Adventures.

I have a 4 yr. old and 2 yr. old that love to play dress up (and I watch a friend's little girl several days a week - she's 2.5 and also joins in the fun). So far most of the stuff I've gotten is pre-owned, either from consignment stores, yardsales, or ebay. I bought a large lot of things in an Ebay auction, picked out the things I knew my girls would like, and resold the rest back on Ebay, a win-win for everyone! They also have some new stuff from Wal-Mart/Target that were gifts. Since they are little, things don't get treated the best (i.e. velcro snagging the dresses, crowns getting bent or broken, etc.), but I'm OK with that because they didn't cost me a fortune. My girls can't tell the difference either. If they get older and are more careful with things, then I might invest in nicer ones, but I still can't see spending $30+ for one dress up costume, I don't even spend that on their normal clothes!
I did buy some dress-up shoes from Toys R Us for them for Christmas and the first pair broke within an hour of play. Took them back for an exchange, and the new pair broke within 30 minutes! She's a skinny 4 yr. old, definately not heavy or too big for them. Very poor quality and I will not be buying anything else from their dress-up line :(
has all their dream dazzlers stuff on clearance --- a few dollars for a formerly $20 dress. everything is way cheap. mine had a ton of stuff. shoes, accessories, dresses, boas, etc...

Do you have a Costco? Ours still had a couple of the dress trunks they had for Christmas (Santa brought one for DD). The quality is not great, but it was two gowns, a two-piece top and skirt set, a couple of pairs of slippers (silver and gold), some jewelry, and a couple of tiaras for $35.
Here is it online (a little bit more $ to cover shipping):

I totally agree with the one review that is there; you'll want to have your sewing kit ready. But the dresses are cute; my almost-3-y-o DD LOVES them.

We also love the Little Adventures dresses. So pretty and great quality. Target carries them. I'm not sure how extensive the in-store selection is, but they have a large selection on their website. We were able to get some on sale around the holidays a year or 2 ago. We got others through a local co-op and I even found one dress at a local thrift store for $2 around Halloween last year. My girls love wearing them.
FWIW we have Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Parisian Princess, Rapunzel, one other dress I can't seem to find a name for (deluxe something...dark purple & hot pink). I also have a dragon cloak and some prince capes tucked away for DS/gifts. I really recommend them.
I'll 5th the idea of the Little Adventures costumes! :) Amazon also currently has some of them, and they're eligible for Prime! http://www.amazon.com/Little-Adventures-Sleeping-Princess-Dress-up/dp/B0033I38B4
We also got a costume trunk from Lillian Vernon with much cheeper costumes, but still fun for DD (2) and DNiece (4) to play with.

i totally agree - little adventures is the way to go IMO - and i am ashamed to say that i have a closet full of dress up for my 3 year old twins so i am comparing the little adventures to some dress up i got a JC Penny, disney dress up, and target dress up - no comparison - the other stuff practically shreds when you just look at it!!

Mine had these, too!
