My sister is expecting her 3rd and stroller shopping. When the baby is born her kids will be about 3 and 1. I have the Valco Trimode Twin and told her about that knowing it can accommodate 3 seated children. She liked it but accessorized it was going to be $900! So here I am looking for recommendations for 3 children so young. Are there other options? Budgetwise I think she'd like to be at half that. Sadly, she's in an aweful Craigslist area too so getting something used is pretty much out of the question!

We had a 36mo and an 18mo when #3 was born. Near the end of my pg (I was 39) I was scared about lifting and we got a BJCMD to use for a few months. Once I was cleared to lift again, I went back to the BJCED that we love so much. It pushes really well for carrying so much weight...especially over the last 19 months as all 3 of our DC have grown and grown. We have a valco board attached to it so either the 3yo or 4yo ride sitting down on that or on the footwell if we don't have it.

Someone else had one for sale the other day, but here is one http://www.mystrollers.com/shop/product.aspx?ref=froogle&sku=69093
and the valco hitchhiker http://www.albeebaby.com/valco-baby-hitch-hiker-ride-on-platform-step.html?utm_source=Google_Products&utm_medium=cse&utm_campaign=GoogleProducts

eta: Encourage her to get help, lots of it. It's hard.

She posted on her facebook and tons of people are responding with the Sit N Stand. Is this really a good option? I've always heard that tandem strollers are hard to maneuver and such.

For her budget I think she has two options. The BOB duallie with valco hitchhiker or the MB duo with MB free rider. Someone would have to find a deal on the MB duo but its only 29" wide so it would be more indoor friendly then the BOB. No matter which option she chooses I would suggest getting a good carrier so she can wear the baby for the first 6 months or so. I love my Beco since it grows with babies but I usually use my Moby for the early months.

She can find better options. You get what you pay for with the sit n stands. They work but are bulky and hard to steer.

Some sales:
Baby Jogger City Classic Double (discontinued): $380 in red (http://www.stroller.com/city-classic-all-terrain-double-baby-jogger-red.html) or black (http://www.stroller.com/city-classic-all-terrain-double-baby-jogger-black.html)

If she will be using it indoors more the outdoors she can consider the BJCMD: on sale for $330 (http://www.justkidsstore.com/prod/baby-jogger/2010-city-mini-double-stroller/black)

She does use (and love) the Moby wrap so she's good with carriers. Seems she ruled out the Sit N Stand as she wants a place for her oldest to be able to lay down if he needs to snooze. I'm taking my Valco over for she and her husband to look at tonight...seems they may still be considering it despite its price tag. I've gotta say, I took advantage of a crazy Valco sale on diapers.com last spring to get it and I think it was like 30-40% off iirc. I wonder if that's a typical sale they do periodically? Does anyone know? Or does Valco usually clearance out their strollers when the new model years are released?

There are Valco Twin Trimodes on ebay with best offer so she could always offer $450-$500 and see if they accept.

A friend of mine found a Twin Trimode with toddler seat and hitch hiker for $500 so I would keep my eyes on nearby CLs if she has better ones nearby.

Do you happen to have a link to the City Select at that price? I don't see it.

Seems like a great price on the Summit. Anyone know about its weight? And for a new customer, is there still additional discounts that can be gotten?

Amazon prices fluctuate. It was $290 earlier today and it might be again soon. Amazon prices tend to be cheaper at night so check back after dinner and see if its dropped again. If you see it drop, call diapers.com and have them price match it. They will keep it in your cart for a little while, can't remember how long. That way you have a chance to think about it before buying.
