The topic of strollers has always been the toughest for me. That's when I decided to join the board, choosing a stroller for DD , back in 2005.

Here are the two strollers that we bought and still have:

DD , born in late 2005: we bought the 2005.5 Zippy
DS, borin mid 2007: we added a BJCSD and still have it.

The double is in pristine condition (we didn't use it much with DC's). It still has the tags hanging from it. It's is a bit heavy for me and the kids are older now, so we don't use it , ever....

With a new baby, I wanted to find one of the fancy strollers with the bassinet attachment, where baby could face me in the beginning. Well, do they make that for twins???

I'd love something that can be used from infancy on, since we will likely go to the boardwalk a lot very early.

Please give me recommendations. I don't need to jog, will not be running too many errands with it, it will be more for leisure. A great canopy and recline are a must. Easy fold and lighter weight are next in terms of importance.

DH and I can likely run errands kid-free. He works 5 minutes from home and we have family that can help, so I am really hoping to be able to do a lot of the tedius stuff (bank, food shop, etc.) alone...stroller would be for family day trips and outings together..

TIA

Please post full names and prices of these things.....I am so out of practice!

Mountain Buggy has a double bassinet for the Duo! http://mountainbuggy.com/en/buggies/double/duo#panels

That's one of their newest doubles, but I think they also had a double bassinet for the MBUD, which might still be around (and for a good price, maybe?).

The Baby Jogger City Select would give you the option of having an inline single with 2 bassinets, but it would be better for the boardwalk if you have full air tires like on your BJCSD.

I really think you could get a lot of use (possibly all you need) from the double you already have. If you plan on flying a lot with them (?) the BJ City Mini Double may come in handy, but it will NOT be good for the boardwalk you mentioned...if it is really "board"walkish. We had ours on a dock at Disney in the fall and were wishing we had the BJ City Elite Double instead.

Bassinets seem like such a low-use item unless you use them inside your house also. I enjoyed wheeling our Bugaboo around the house with the bassinet, but I'm guessing you're not going to do that with twins.

The stroll air my duo has double bassinets, dual reversible seats, dual car seat attachment and suspension. It would be perfect

First off I think you can use two bassinets with the BJCCD. There is a new baby jogger stroller that has the acronym BJCSD, so be careful.

The duo was the first stroller that popped in my mind too. You can buy two separate carrycots to use in the duo or one double-wide carrycot so your twins can sleep in the same strollerbed. Baby Gizmo review (http://www.babygizmo.com/media/video_mountainbuggyduo.php)

The Stroll-Air My Duo also accepts two carrycots and has reversible seats. Baby Gizmo review. (http://www.babygizmo.com/media/video_strollairmyduo2010.php)

You can buy two carrycots for the bumbleride indie twin but they just slide into the seat as opposed to snapping on and off the stroller frame. Baby Gizmo review. (http://www.babygizmo.com/media/video_bumblerideindietwin2010.php) This stroller has a more compact fold then some other AT doubles and is as about light as its going to get at 29 lbs.

The new(not yet released) mountain buggy duet (http://www.ratedbymom.com/2010/10/mountain-buggy-duet-slimmest-side-by-side-yet/) is said to be only 25" wide and take two carrycots. Not sure if they will make a double carrycot like the duo or not.

The new bugaboo donkey (http://www.ratedbymom.com/2010/10/new-bugaboo-donkey-video-you-didnt-see-it-from-us/) (also not yet released) will be able to accept two bassinets and also has reversible seats like the stroll-air my duo. This stroller will be unique in that it will also be able to convert to a single. So you have the option of carrying one baby and pushing another if you are in a confined space.

The BJCMD is more compact and lacks air tires. This will be the lightest and most compact double on this list. New compact carrycots (http://site.pishposhbaby.com/blog/2010/11/05/baby-jogger-compact-pram-a-hot-new-item/) are being released and you should be able to use 2 carrycots on the double. The doubles are on sale for $330 right now and the carrycots are $159 a piece so at $648 this might be your most economical option (other then just buying carrycots for the stroller you already own).

The baby jogger carrycots like this may fit in your 2007, but I'm not totally sure it has a flat enough recline....do you know? http://www.mystrollers.com/shop/product.aspx?ref=froogle&sku=J7S93

and the bassinets are these http://www.diapers.com/product/productdetail.aspx?productid=18465&site=CI&cm_mmc=cse-_-googlebase-_-strollers-_-OG-067&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=OG-067 but they are only good for single strollers. Wonder if there is one for the doubles, but they would be for the 2008 and later, not the 2007 model.

Wanted to add that the soft pram (http://www.babyjogger.com/c-31-Accessories.aspx#cityclassic) is on closeout at the baby jogger site for only $60 a piece. These are not reverse facing.

The hard cased, rear facing carrycots are $250 a piece.I'm pretty sure that the clips for these are not compatible with the 2007 model. They were redesigned for 2008.

I noticed those and did see the hard carrycots don't seem as though they are compatible with my stroller :(

I wonder how the soft pram attaches? What does the soft pram do that blankets can't? I wish they could reverse face.....

If you don't have the adjustable foot rest then the first thing it does is provide that for long babies. Secondly you can remove it from the stroller if the babies fall asleep and you want to go inside without the stroller.
