We've had good luck with hotwire.com in the past.

I have had good luck with hotwire.com. I have also found good rates at enterprise rent a car, but I always check hotwire first.

We usually bid on priceline. We've always gotten deals a lot cheaper than those I could find elsewhere.

I use costco--renting through them gets us a free extra driver (not necessarily a spouse) through alamo.

We called the numbers of the offices directly, not the 800 numbers, and found good deals that way. Renting off site from the airport helps too. Even with cab fare to the pick up site we came out well ahead on our rentals that we did that way.

If you have access to USAA, I got the best deal through them last month. Much better than Priceline.

Always found Alamo through Costco to be the best prices.

I usually check out orbitz first - I like their format the best. Then I see which one is offering the cheapest for the class of car I want and go to rentalcodes.com and look for any discount codes for that company. Sometimes they have really great discounts. Then I go to that site and book it. Kind of a pain, I know, but I've gotten some really great discounts that way. I also look at costco sometimes.
