I know they can be washed and reused, but can they be recycled? DH has this thing about reusing them :6: so instead of fighting him, I'm hoping I can just instruct him to place them in the recycle bin.

I have no problem reusing them for dry stuff (cookies, bread, stuff you can shake out) but I am not so frugal that I wash and re-use.

I have no idea if they can be recycled...

Don't know why I didn't think to check their website first. In case anyone else is interested:

Are ZiplocĀ® Brand Bags recyclable?
ZiplocĀ® Brand Bags are made from Polyethylene Plastic Resin #4. It is recyclable in the few communities that accept Polyethylene Plastic Resin #4. The outer box is made from recycled paperboard (minimum 35% post-consumer content) and is recyclable.

I think they can be recycled with plastic store bags. I don't think they can be put into curbside recycling. They will jam up the machines at they recycling center.

Thanks for this. I did not know I could drop off other plastics besides grocery bags. I will start keeping a seperate bin for these to drop off at the recycle station at my grocery store. :jammin:
