I found one on our craigslist and it intrigued me so I'm curious what you think about it and what it would be comparable to. thanks!

Valco, BJCE, 12"AW BOB. MBUS is a solid stroller. What year is it? I briefly owned an '05. It didn't have a suspension or seat padding but it was still pretty awesome and the push was excellent. The major complaints of the old one is the canopy. Its definitely a no frills stroller but the push is excellent.

It's a 2003 that they are asking $150 for. That seems expensive for a 7+ year old stroller. I dont know. They say it's in great condition. I do want to get a jogging stroller but I'm torn between buying the jogging attachment for my chariot cabriolet or buying a separate jogger. What do you think? The one thing the chariot does not have is a swivel/locking wheel. It is always locked. I like the option of a swivel. I dont know if I want to get a stroller that old though. I've never bought one that old before.

$150 is waaaaaaayy too much for a 7 yo old stroller. $50-$100 would be more like it - $100 being very generous.

Kay, that's what I was thinking, but I dont want to insult them by offering so much less. Especially after my craigslist rants! lol But if someone has truely priced their item high...I don't know if I'm interested in a stroller that old anyway. Hmm..

I bought the '05 this summer for $60 off CL in Chicago. It was listed at $125 and I renegotiated on scene because of the front wheel. The front wheel was cracked, it still held air and technically worked but I wanted it to be perfect. Bought a new wheel off dmartstores for $40 so in the end the stroller cost me $100. I sold it 2 weeks later for $125 because I didn't really need it. I would offer $75 and see how it goes.

Should I have any reservations about a stroller that old? Do MB's hold up really well for a LONG time?

I just recently sold my MBUD (2004) stroller to a friend. It was in fantastic shape, and it pushed like a dream!

I also bought a used MBUS off CL from someone else and it's a 2007. I paid $140 for it. It was in great shape. Great ride, goes well in snow, over bumpy terrain, etc.

So, yeah, I wouldn't pay over $75 for a 2004. My guess is that the handlebar doesn't adjust?

For comparison sake, there are 2 older MBUSes on my CL right now - both 2006s
this one for $125

and this one with accessories for $150

I don't think I would necessarily buy a stroller that was more than 5 years old unless I knew it was well maintained, but that's me...

No. The '05 didn't adjust but I thought it was a great height and helped give the stroller the sturdy feel. I don't think you have to pass. Its worth checking out. The '05 i bought was in excellent condition except for the one tire (I think she said she overinflated it one day). I called Phil and Ted about the tire and they were very helpful. They didn't have any old MB tires in stock but they measured the tires they did have to see if it would fit the stroller. They guessed by the measurements that it might fit but I ended up finding the old tire for sale online.

The price is too high since you won't be able to sell it for much since its already 7 years old now. However that being said the MBs built in New Zealand look like they could outlive us all. They are awesome.

glad i came across this thread. i keep seeing MBUS pretty cheap ($125 w/ a car seat attachment). i cant bring myself to shell out $350+ for a new MB, so i've been stalking CL for a BOB and getting impatient almost finding myself pulling the trigger on an older MB... hmm

I really love my MBUS, if that helps at all! The push is amazing and my little guy loves riding in it. My Skip Hop hangs off it nicely, I can shove a lot in the basket, and it folds down small enough for my trunk.
