All toys at www.mybabysgreen.com are 50% off with the code MAKEROOM. She has Sophie the Giraffe, lots of Plan toys including the doll house and parking garage. I've never ordered from this site but always wanted to.

I could order a 4th parking garage. My husband would have me committed... :rotflmao:
But oh I do want to know how the elevator works on the new one... so so bad...

Any idea of shipping rates? Website says it by weight, but trying to get a ballpark before placing the order.

Never mind, I found the estimate shipping feature! BTW, all items 4% or more off are final sale for this website...

Wait, is the picture of the elevator the "new" or "old" elevator?
I had no idea it was changed. Do you know when it was changed and what was changed on it?

Uh, sorry. In my plan toy garage obsessed brain, it made sense.
The pic they have is the new version, meaning circa 2008-now.
I don't have this one. It is very attractive, but the elevator is small - but I am not sure how small
There was a 2004-2008 version prior to that where the elevator hung off the side of a shaft - elevator was bigger and will hold all matchbox cars, even the ecto 1, which is LONG. That is what I have, and the elevator breaks on it. I keep tinkering with it.
Prior to that there was this version : http://www.fast-autos.net/diecast-cars-models/Plan-City-Wooden-Parking-Garage-Brio-Compatible_270671997817.html (elevator tower was taller, elevator cranked up on string) - I have the crank/elevator to that version, elevator is very short
Either at the same time or shortly after that one was this one which IMO is kinda weird: http://www.amazon.com/BRIO-Plan-City-Garage-2003/dp/B0006KSM8Q
And then the earliest version I can find is this one where the elevator goes up and down on a grooved wooden dowel and is indestructable, but slow - http://ghl7.special-gift-offers.co.uk/special-gift-offers-for-ghl-a-Toys---Wooden-Toys.htm (scroll down to see it) I have one of these. It's so nice and solidly built and you can tell the wood is higher quality than what is used now - but that elevator is so slow...
So by new version I mean current version. I am itching to get my hands on one and see how the elevator works. But like I said, my husband would seriously have me committed. I had another of the 2004-2008 model that I returned when the elevator broke, and then decided it would eat me alive not to figure out how to fix it - so I bought another one, and have been tinkering.

I got Sophie at Barnes & Noble for half off. Check out slickdeals for a coupon (it is a mystery coupon- but slick deals lets you know which one is 50% off). The coupon can be used on anything at Barnes & Noble---except for a few exclusions like ebooks.

You can get the old version from constructive playthings for $45. I have ordered from them. The elevator mechanism may or may not break immediately, but if it does Plan will send a new one and you can tinker with the old one.

The elevator on the old version is better... the new one won't hold most matchbox cars. It's shorter.
But I'm still dying to know how the mechanism works in it...
There is also an old one on Ebay now - the old ones have indestrucable elevator mechanisms, but work slower than the new ones.

That elevator car can totally be repaired more attractively than that - the person should have used a drill and screw, not a nail, that is how the split happened. The old one, you can't plug road into the base, but the base is huge and the whole thing is so much more solid... I actually have the old version as well as an elevator attachment for the version in between the old and modern versions, and plan to make a frankengarage with all the best features.
I have decided to start thinking of myself as a plan garage historian and repair expert rather than a crazy person.

Just to follow up. The confirmation email didn't have a tracking number, but I received my order today. No problems.
