If it were me, I'd need a box of tissues to get through the summary after recently losing a beloved pet like yours, Bill. (I haven't read it and don't know that I would at any point.)

Honestly, I can recommend Katz on Dogs or anything else by Jon Katz a lot more easily because I've read most of it through excerpts published at Slate.com
