Losing mucous plug

I am pretty sure that I am losing my mucous plug now (looks like snot, right?). Anyway, i was curious how long after losing your mucous plug did you go into labor?

For me, it was within days.

I had my first one come out at 33 weeks, and of course panicked. However, after research I realized that it could reform. The second time I didn't even notice, so it must have been during labor at sometime.

Let me start by saying that it varies for everyone. But in my case, DS was born 24 hours after I discovered mine fell off--give or take a few minutes. And I mean born, I was holding him in my arms--not still in labor.

With my first I noticed my MP on Sunday morning, and contractions started the next day. With my 2nd I lost my MP about an hour before contractions started, and I was holding him about 5 hours later. So for me it's a definite sign of impending labor. Good luck!

With DD it was a week later, with DS#2 it was 1.5 weeks later!
(with DS#1 never saw it, so not sure).

1 day with ds1. No memory of it happening with ds2.

I started losing mine around midnight and DS was born at 7 that night.

I lost mine on a Monday and DS was born Saturday morning.

I lost mine the first time about 2 weeks before ds was born, then again, but not as much, the day before.

I'd say right at the start of labor. Maybe 26 hours before DD was born?

Lost it during labor but about 24 hours before DD was actually born.

Never lost it with the first two. With my third, I lost it at 37 weeks. Didn't go into labor until the day before 39 weeks.

for me, it was over a week!!!!! don't believe it will be in a matter of days becuase it will make those days LOOONNGGG if you don't go right away!!

Yes, I agree. I have been quite anxious over the past few days. I'm still not in labor yet, and am conitinuing to lose my mucous plug--it seriously makes me wonder how big this plug really is bc i feel like it just keeps coming out!

I lost mine over the course of a few days and then it was almost two weeks later before my water broke. I ended up having to have Pitosin because my labor wasn't progressing but had a pain med free delivery! Good Luck!

With DS I lost it and DS was born a week later.

with DS i lost it when i was going into labor (DS was born the next morning)

i'm 35 weeks and i think i'm in the process of losing it now (eek). went to OB she said while everything is fine i very likely won't make it to 40 weeks (am already 2cm dilated, 80% effaced, and having contractions 6-8 mins apart). i am reassured by all those who said they lost theirs a week or two before the birth...i am crossing my fingers for at least one more week.

With DD2 I am pretty sure I lost mine at 35 or 36 weeks, same with DD1, but it's hard to pin point I always had lots of mucousy fluid down there. With DD1 I made it to 37 w 6 days, and with DD2 I made it to 38 w 6 days. I was 4/1/2 cm. with DD1 five days before I delivered and very effaced too. Good luck!

I don't remember losing mine with #1...or just don't remember when it happened.

With #2 I gradually lost it over the course of 1-1.5 weeks. I was also 50% +effaced and 2-3 cm dialated for 2 weeks. (I progressed from 50% to 80% in the last week).

It can take a while...so relax, but be prepared to go if you must!

Never saw it until I was in actual labor with #1 or #2. With #3 I might have had a bit a few days before I went into labor. Never had bloody show with any of them before actual labor (did have some spotting after a vaginal exam with DS1 a few weeks prior to going into labor, but not spontaneous bloody show).
