DS2 was sick in school (diarrhea) and apparently soiled his shoes. At first I thought they were over reacting but his shoes are soaking wet (they clearly washed them in the sink). Can I wash them in the sanitary cycle in the washer? If not what CAN I do?

We wash tennis shoes in the washing machine all the time... I'd give it a try.

I would wash them in hot water (or the sanitary cycle), then air dry, and cross my fingers. If they don't survive they don't deserve to exist. Yuck. (this is one reason I refuse to spend more than $20 on kids shoes).
Best wishes for your DS for a speedy recovery and to the rest of you that you don't get it (WASH YOUR HANDS!!!)

Yes, but I would throw some towels in with them so they don't make such a racket! So sorry to hear about your little one....no fun!
