PNP mattress

DS still sleeps occasionally in his PNP. Is there any way to make the mattress more comfy, but still safe?

I got one off of walmart.com and it was great. It's only an inch or 2 thick and pretty firm but so much better than the cardboard "matress" that PNP come with! DD napped in the pack n play daily for 2-3 years so it was well worth it to me!
