You can click on the column headings to sort, for example, by state.

Well crud. Ours is on the list. I can't say I'm surprised because once the Barnes and Noble moved into our mall, I haven't gone to Borders as much either, simply because it's not as convenient. Still, I preferred Borders.

Oh well, the reality is that I've been ordering my books on Amazon for my Kindle anyhow, so I'm not helping, but it's sad to see a bookstore close.

Whew, ours is not closing. Thanks for the link!

I almost always go to B&N only because it is much closer and more convenient. But Borders has great coupons so I make a special trip every time I get a 40% off.

Well this stinks. The one in the mall by me is closing. At least there is still a bigger Borders near me that is not on the list. There is a Barnes & Nobles near me that recently closed, too.

I really hate this.

Wow, ALL the Borders near me are closing (unless I'm not aware of one). That list is HUGE.

So bummed. They are closing all three stores in my area. The nearest one will be 30 minutes away. :nodno:

Two in my area are closing, but I never go to them (Cerritos, and Downtown Long Beach), but it looks like they are keeping the Borders Express at Lakewood Mall, and the one near Long Beach State open. So that is good because I hate the location of the Barnes & Noble (the parking lot is bad).

Our local one is staying open, but there is one not too far away that is closing. Maybe I can go get some deals. LOL!

The one in Germantown doesn't appear to be closing.

But what a huge list! I really don't shop in Borders much so can't say I personally will miss it...but that will be a lot of empty storefronts that will be hard to fill:(

Alot of them in my area are closing too but the closest one isn't on the list!

All the Borders by me are closing but the Waldenbooks aren't. Probably because they are all located in malls. I feel sorry for all the people losing their jobs.

I will miss the Borders by me (Santana Row). We would always go there after dinner. I tried to buy something every other time or so because we enjoyed it so much.

Hmmm, does anyone know the timeline for stores closing? And are some sort of inventory reduction sales expected or will all the inventory be moved to other stores? All the stores within a huge radius of me are going to be closing.

The one I go to all the time is closing :( Oh well.

No. Make that ALL the Borders stores in Austin are closing.

Thankfully, ours isn't closing. It is pretty close to our house so it is awfully convenient. The husband and I buy a lot of our books for our Kindles but we tend to buy the girl's books there. B&N isn't that much further away so it wouldn't be a tragedy.

See, I didn't even realize there was one in Germantown. Milestone I assume. At least it's only 20 minutes in the opposite direction of White Flint which takes me 20 minutes to get to b/c of traffic.

Ugh, we already live an hr from a borders, and I like going there when I get a chance. And of course the one at my parents' town, which is one of the few motivations why I would bother to visit my parents is closing. I really hate that all we have in our town is a really dumbed down B&N, most of the books I want, I would need to special order anyway, which is just easier to get on amazon.

That's the one I would go to as well however there are 3 B&Ns closer to me so it was rare that I would go to Borders. There is a Borders in Milpitas which is convenient to my work but not home.

Oh thank goodness! Ours is staying open. It is the only bookstore for 20 minutes in any direction, and is always packed, with a long line. So glad my haven is staying open!

Wow, they're closing one near me that is brand new! The space was built/designed just for them, as part of a shopping center renovation. What a waste.

Wow, the one near me is staying open. I'm very surprised since it's never crowded. However, B&N is nearby and is always packed.

I am relieved to see that the one near my house is not closing, but sad to see that the ones near my mom, my inlaws, and our summer house are all closing. It has been my place to go when I need to just get out of the house while visiting my mom or my inlaws.

Thanks. We have 3 within 20 minutes and surprisingly only 1 is closing. The other 2 are super busy however.

Thanks for posting this! Ever since I heard that Border's was declaring bankruptcy I've been worried that ours would close, but it isn't on the list, yeah! A few friends and I meet for coffee every Wed. morning and then take our kids to the story time and we've really enjoyed doing this. We don't have a B&N or any other big bookstore in our town, so glad that Border's will still be around!

somehow, ever since the $1 toy marathon last year I knew Borders wouldn't survive.

:yeahthat:

That was so incompetent. They could have sold the majority of those toys at 50% off, I'm sure. All they needed was a little signage.
