I put dd down for nap in a shirt and diaper. She is ten months old. She took her diaper off. Then peed and pooped in her crib. And got her shirt half way off. She was crying so I went to check on her and discovered all this. (Good news is she had not played in the poop.)

This was a one time event. Right? Right?

Of course
Try putting a zip up sleeper on her backwards next time. That tends to trick them!

Get the duct tape ready for the next nap! ;)

No really, I'm sure it was a one time thing.

But maybe put some comfy pants (leggings?) over the onesie to make it harder for her to access.

I won't lie! The one time one of our DDs took her diaper off during the night (her bed was SOAKED but no poop, thank goodness!) it never happened agan.

Because we started putting their overnight diapers on backwards:)

This is exactly why DD is in onesies all the time.

:yeahthat: I cut the feet off two sleepers and those were the sleeping pjs. It never happened again

DD1 did that once, maybe twice, tops........but she use to sleep in a halo sleep sack. She got that unzipped and took off her diaper.........so I just put the sleep sack on her backwards and she could never get it off.

So, I'd get a sleep sack and put it on her backwards just to guarantee it doesn't happen again!!!

Snug diaper + footless pants + backwards sleepsack = good chance it won't happen again. At least all that will slow her down.

No lie: DD only went diaper diving once for some reason. She learned how to wriggle out of the backwards sleepsack, though. I love sleepsacks and recommend them all the time, but I wish the backwards trick had worked longer than it did.

Good luck!

Halo sleepsacks backwards helped with this problem.

We never had the poop part- but the pee? Oh yeah- but ours didn't start until a little after two- looks like she's an early bloomer!!!

Each of my kids has only done that once. Really!

It turns out you don't always have to remove the feet from the footed PJs to put them on backwards. I would just twist feet to face forward and they worked fine. But the Hanna one from Costco were my favorite. My youngest didn't realize the zipper actually goes in front until just recently.

But I'm sure you will never have to worry about it happening again. Really.

I don't know, have you started to feel all smug about how YOUR kid has never painted the crib/self/or walls in poop? Cause IME that is right about the time MY kid started painting every surface she could reach in feces.

Just saying...don't get smug.

ANd duct tape and backwards jammies are good, and lysol is GREAT. ;)

I can't imagine it happening again. But two words: duct tape. Not that I know from experience...experiences...several...x2.

Since I am delusional (but absolutely NOT smug!!!). I am going pretend that as long as I put her down with pants on, it won't happen again.

When that doesn't work, :wink2: I'll be revisiting all the ideas on this thread.

If it's not, there's always putting her down in pants, putting her down in a sleeper, putting her down in a sleeper with the zipper in the back, and putting her down in a sleepsack.

And there's duct tape. Not kidding.

I can't imagine not putting DCs down to sleep without pants. I would assume the diaper would come off -- if even by accident! It has never happened to us -- but mine always wear pants or a sleeper!

This is a once in a lifetime thing. Not only will it never happen with DD again, it will probably never happen with any subsequent kids either.

I know you hate onesies, but it might be time for onesies. Don't do the t-shirt and dipe again. I don't think she's getting off a onesie or snap footie or zipper. That's one smart baby!

Backwards diaper + onesie worked for us for Jelly Bean.

I'm pretty sure Ha is going to require the duct tape, at least. I tell people she's the kid they make all the warning labels for.

I think I'd rather do duct tape than onesies. That's how much I dislike them. ;)

Does anyone else have that song stuck in their head now? Lie to me. I promise I'll believe. . . .

DD1 started doing this in the Fall when she figured out she could unzip her footed PJs and get naked. After 2 poo incidents we did the backwards sleeper with the feet cut out for nap and bedtime for about a month. After that we put her back in regular 2 piece jammies and we haven't had an issue since.

think of it this way.. at 10 months she's quite talented, capable, smart to be able to do all that by herself!
