So many choices don't know which ones are the most neutral everday shoe. TIA!

I have some black ones from DSW (they came in women's sizes)--not sure what type they are. I used to have some Jack Purcell's (black) from the Gap, years ago. I was shocked to see how much they are charging for them now. I'd like to get some gray ones. Apparently they're really big in Paris.

I read in a style book by Kate Spade that black Chucks will never not be fashionable. I agree with that, and I've always had a pair in my wardrobe.

I have the black low slip ons. Been wearing them for a couple of years now.

I have a pair of silver metallic; a nice, modern neutral, IMO.

Black Jack Purcell's. They actually pre-date the Chuck Taylor's. I think they have a great classic sneaker look, and more arch support than Chuck's which I found to be pretty uncomfortable.

I have a gray pair. I feel they are a bit softer in color and are a great neutral. You can never go wrong with a classic!

I tried on a pair of converse years ago and felt like they made my feet look like boats. Anyone else have that issue? I guess I should try them again...

I never found them comfortable. The ones I've tried were too flat (no arch support/cushioning). They are cute, though.. I wish I could wear them.

:yeahthat: I guess I've always found it weird how many ppl like converse, b/c they are really, really basic shoes, due to how flat they are. They are super cute though. I'm jealous I can't wear cute shoes.

Black Chuck Taylors. And always low tops - my ankles are claustrophobic. :)

Does everyone size down on converse. I think I may have to go to a store to try them on first.

I don't size down. Definitely try them on first!

I got this style using my Kohl's 30% coupon in store before Christmas. (Price was definitely higher than shown here, though!) For some reason, I thought they felt more comfortable than the solid models I tried on (they're soft plaid flannel). Plus I thought they looked cute! I wore them today, in fact.

Awesome! What color did you go with? I might have to get another color for spring/summer, as the plaid flannel style I got seems more winterish.

Same here. I can't tell you how many pairs I've been through. I love them.
