I have a pile of outgrown clothes to donate. I will either donate to Brothers and Sisters or to Savers (which I know is not realy donating since they resell the clothes themselves). I am wondering if I need to wash everythng first? Everything is clean just a bit wrinkled from sitting aorund for so long.

Thanks, Jessica.

If it is clean I would just donate it -- I'd make sure it was clean (sounds like it is)

No. Don't donate dirty clothes of course, but no need to rewash clean stored clothing.

I would definitely not bother. The new owners will want to wash them again after they go through the donation process.

I wouldn't bother re-washing clean but wrinkly, but anything with a stain or obvious crusties I would. It wouldn't take but a minute to flip through everything (think as you toss it into a bag to donate) to quickly check for any dirties you might have missed.

No. If they are already clean, I would not put the effort into washing them again.

I donated lots of clean clothes to a friend, I told here everything was clean but had been sitting in storage for awhile, and she said she was going to re-wash everything anyway.

I don't if it is clean. Please!

I almost always re-wash used/ thrift clothes. The only exception is a friend of mine- some of the clothes she gave me were obviously just washed. My thrift store is next to a chinese restaurant. Nuff said.

No, I wouldn't. The only time I've washed something prior to donating it, was if my cat had cozied up to it and left it covered in fur. If it's clean but just a little wrikled then I don't bother.

I always make sure they're clean. So, if they're just folded and hanging out, no, but if they're questionable, I'm not sure, or have been worn and not washed, I always wash them first.

Definitely wash all clothes before donating them. If I get used clothes from someone, I always wash them first too, but hoping they're just double washed.

I tend to do a big purge and donate a bunch when I do. I can't imagine spending a couple days doing 5-6 extra loads of laundry to wash them again so they're all freshly washed!

So, no just donate :).

Clean but wrinkled is fine.
