I am considering getting some paints to do with DD, who is 3. For those of you brave enough to foray into painting- what have you used???

I am thinking of more tempura paint- or something that is comparable..... or watercolors.

I'm looking for WASHABLE, as my number one priority, if it gets on clothes!

TIA!

I use anything that is Crayola and washable and have been happy so far.

:yeahthat:

I much prefer watercolors though. They are just easier to deal with IMO.

I hav palmer paints--found at JoAnns and our local art store. They haven't really gotten on stuff yet, but they are supposed to be washable, and come in two sizes. I use them in melissa and doug no-spill containers with lids.

ETA: DS also loves watercolor painting at his table. (he's 2.5)

I found little pots of crayola (8 pack IRRC) at walmart that have been perfect. They are small and chubby and work really well, don't tip easily etc.

Watercolors can stain. :P I buy Crayola or the big bottles of tempera paint at Michaels. I often give a squirt of dishsoap to them when I put them in cups for the kids and give them a good stir with the brush too. I've never had them stain.
