I know dyeing your hair is not good, but what about highlighting?
I don't recall what the "rule" is on that.
Thanks.

My OB said it was OK, since the dye doesn't touch the scalp. I avoided it during the first trimester, but got my highlights touched up in the second trimester.

:yeahthat:

I was told once was ok, but don't make it a regular thing.

Not sure about the chemical issue, but my hairstylist recommended skipping my normal highlights just because my hair grows so fast while I'm pregnant. I have pixie short hair though, so a couple cuts and all my highlights are totally gone anyway.

my midwife said it was fine, she didn't put any frequency limitations on it and I've done it through both pregnancies and enjoyed the pampering completely guilt free.

I highlighted through all 3 pregnancies every 8 weeks and my OB/midwife was fine with it.

Good to know. I colored before I knew I was pregnant :(, but now will wait until out of first tri (could get sketchy since I need the color!).

I'm in NYC and there is a salon that uses all natural products for pregnant ladies. Looks like I'll be making an appt when I can!
