View Full Version : What color sweater would you wear this dress? (fixed link!)

I think I am going to order this dress from Boden (http://www.bodenusa.com/en-US/Womens-Dresses/Knee-Length-Dresses/WH264-KHK/Womens-Fatigue-Alium-Everyday-Jersey-Dress.html?m=3) and was wondering what color sweater I should order to go with it. I really like this sweater in the straw color (http://www.bodenusa.com/en-US/Womens-Knitwear/Cardigans/WK629/Womens-Tie-Front-Cardigan.html?NavGroupID=6), but am afraid it won't look right with my skin tone (fair w/very slight golden undertones (ie: not rosy), med. blond hair, and blue eyes), and it's hard to tell if the pink is the right shade to match the dress either. I can't really wait 3 weeks for the taupe sweater either because I will need to wear the dress in just over a month.

FWIW, I was thinking of wearing light pink strappy 3" heels with it.

TIA.

That is a gorgeous dress! I tried looking hard at the pink sweater compared to the dress. i really can't tell.

Are their free returns right now - could get both to try?

(Re: the link - there is some extra code near the front that needs to be removed to see it.)

Yes they are having free returns right now so yeah I could totally order both. I am probably also going to order the dress in two sizes as I have no idea how Boden runs as this would be my first order.

I also sort of like the other pink/maroon color that the dress comes in but I think with my coloring the green one will look better.

Really pretty dress! But I don't know about what color cardigan. I'd probably try to pull the blue because blue looks good om me.

I think that yellow is a hard color to wear.

I would go with the pink sweater because there are several shades of pink/red/coral? in that dress, but with the straw colored sweater, I can't tell if the dress has more of a green or yellow hue.

I also agree that the yellow shade is hard for a lot of people to wear...me included, and I'm very fair, but with some pinkish tones to my skin.

I don't need that dress. I don't need that dress, I don't need that dress. (If i keep telling myself that I might believe it)
Back to your questions. I think black could work with it, pink might be harder to match.

Oh, that probably is black, not navy blue? Sorry.

I was thinking about the navy cardigan too so I ended up ordering it and the dress in two sizes. I also found this dress (http://www.bodenusa.com/en-US/Clearance/Womens-Dresses/Above-Knee-Dresses/WH229/Womens-Floaty-Printed-Dress.html?NavGroupID=4) in the clearance section (and I got the last one in my size in the posey multi:boogie:).

I also ended up ordering these for the girls:
Fifties apple swimsuit for DD2 (http://www.bodenusa.com/en-US/Baby-Swimwear/71143-PNK/Baby-Pink-Fruit-Salad-Fifties-Swimsuit.html)
Reversable red/boat sun hat for DD2 (http://www.bodenusa.com/en-US/Baby-Accessories/78047-AQU/Baby-Aqua-Boats_Poppy-Spot-Printed-Reversible-Hat.html)
Red Poppy sundress for DD1 (http://www.bodenusa.com/en-US/Girls-Dresses/33152-RED/Girls-Rouge-Posy-Pretty-Print-Dress.html)

No longer a Boden virgin and I hope it all fits! I haven't bought myself a nice non maternity dress in two years. I think it's time!:) Thanks again!

Annie, I ordered the same dress in plum, but the stitching darts up the cups didn't work well on a solid dress. How are they on the print version?
