Poll coming...wait for it. :)

I know most of us haven't seen them all, but this is just for fun! You can base it on your best guess, who's got buzz, or even who you think is cute. :) My money is on "The King's Speech", but if "Black Swan" wins I won't be surprised. I've only seen "Speech", "The Social Network", ""The Kids are Alright" and "True Grit". I really enjoyed them all, but "True Grit" and "The King's Speech" were my faves.

I am not including "other". There are 10 nominees. Just pick one! :)

I wouldn't be surprised if Black Swan wins either. DH loved The King's Speech!

I voted for The King's Speech, although I think Black Swan has a good chance too. I don't get the hype about The Social Network. I mean, it was a good movie, but nothing world-changing, IMO.

I've only seen one of them...the King's Speech...so I voted for it. But I'd imagine even if I had seen a lot of the movies, I would root for it being the Oscar winner. It really was excellent.

I have seen The Kings Speech, and Toy Story 3, and of those two I would hope that The Kings Speech wins.

I wouldn't be surprised though if the Social Network, or Black Swan won.

No idea but I am really hoping Toy Story 3 will get it.

I think The King's Speech or True Grit should win but I think Black Swan might actually win.

LOL. Maybe you should have had an option "I have seen only 1 or fewer of these movies." I only saw Toy Story 3.

I have seen 8 of the nominated pics. I would say black swan was the best one.

I vote Kings' Speech but I've only seen that, Toy Story, Inception and the Social Network.

I went with King's Speech. DH and I finally saw it last night and I loved it. His feeling on "True Grit" was that even though it was a retelling of the book and not a "remake" per se, it wasn't an original concept.
DH also thought (and I agree) that Social Network, while compelling, had that sort of "ABC Afterschool Special" feel to it.
I also really did like Inception, but felt that the overall acting was way better in King's Speech.
And WHY are there 10 now? Really? REALLY? We can't narrow this down a bit more? :)

I saw King's Speech too and it was good, but not great. The acting was great, but at the end I was left wondering "is that it?" I think KS would be the safe choice for the Academy.

I didn't vote, as I don't have a clue. How sad is it that on the list I've only seen Toy Story 3....clearly I need to get out more! :D

Which two did you miss? I'm guessing (based on nothing!) Kids are Alright and Winter's Bone.

I have only seen True Grit, The Kids are Alright and TS3.

That breaks my recent streak for seeing nominated movies by a factor of 3. :tongue5:

My favorite was True Grit. I am not all that into Toy Story and I found The Kids are Alright highly unbelievable. Parts were entertaining or interesting but parts were really just blah to me. But as I have not seen 7 of the movies and as I am pretty sure the Academy is not tracking their votes to my opinion, I have no idea. I'll vote True Grit but I have no real basis for saying that.

I don't know but hailee Steinfield's dress is amazing and age appropriate! I hope she wins tonight. She did an amazing job in an incredibly hard role.

Both of you are still better than me since I have not seen any of the nominated movies. I'm not even going to say what's the last movie I've seen in the theater!

Yay for The Kings Speech (DH's prediction)! :applause: Glad Colin Firth got the Oscar for best actor and Natalie Portman for best actress. Natalie looked gorgeous and radiant...pregnancy really suits her!
