I love the idea of a messenger/backpack as a diaper bag--messenger mode for quick trips and DS in a back carry, backpack for DS in a front carry or stroller. Has anybody seen one they like? I like the BBP bag except it has no top zipper. Here's my criteria:

a) convertible from backpack to messenger with padded straps for each
b) zippered top
c) not necessarily a "diaper bag"
d) gender-neutral
e) big enough for cloth diapering

Any recommendations?

Have you taken a look at the JJB BFF?

Yes, I've seen it. The backpack straps seem like a bit of an afterthought, but then the shoulder strap isn't padded either. Also, paying that much for a fabric diaper bag seems insane to me, when I try to avoid paying more than $100 for a leather purse. Also, I'm thinking I need something sportier looking or my husband won't want to carry it. Even the black BFF looks pretty girly to me.

I really like my BFF. The backpack straps are very comfortable, and I don't think it looks feminine. They have updated the BFF (only on some colors so far) so the backpack straps are attached a little higher which apparently makes the backpack sit a little flatter on the back. So if you get one you might want to make sure it's the updated version.
