Completely stupid question that I don't want to look up

Are digital cameras sensitive to magnets? As in, if I were to make a case for my Canon G9 and used a magnet closure on the front, would it mess my camera, memory card, or anything else up?

My camera came with a case that has a magnetic closure so maybe it's ok? I worry about putting my iphone near magnets though so I don't know if the iphone would be different than a camera.

Well, I did look it up, and I think it's okay. It seems you'd need the magnetic strength of an MRI to do damage to a camera or a phone. I don't know if I believe that, but I think a tiny magnet will be okay! Thanks for replying!

I don't think the magnet you will be using would be strong enough to do any damage.

Yeah, I don't think so either. It's smaller than a dime and not super strong. Just wanted to be sure before I start this project. Thanks!
