I think this is ridiculous. He's a potato for crying out loud! Besides, if I didn't see them side by side in this picture, *I* likely wouldn't even notice the difference. http://newsfeed.time.com/2011/02/26/slimmer-spud-mr-potato-head-sheds-some-pounds/ DD looked at the picture and noticed only that he is now wearing pants. In all honesty, it just looks like the pants are covering up the rounder part!

I dunno. He still looks like a couch potato to me.

I don't like the pants, esp. if they don't come off. He looks the same to me.

I remember when you had to supply your own (real) potato for Mr. Potato head . . .

If he wants to be truly in vogue . . . he should go fingerling.

Does anyone else think it looks like a before and after picture of Al Roker from the Today show?

:yeahthat: With those sharp, pointy pieces that you had to stab into the potato - lol! I sure wish I had kept mine.

ETA: I was a kid in the 60s and this is what we had. It's amazing we all weren't killed by the toys back then (and lack of carseats/seat belts), or at the very least maimed. No wonder our parents used to say "You'll put your eye out!" http://www.mrpotatohead.net/1950/sadtater.jpg

That's just crazy! He's a POTATO!!! Potatoes are SUPPOSED to be chunky looking! Why does he need to slim down? He's freakin' make believe to begin with!!! It's just so dumb that they would even think to change something like this. What's next, a new, slimmer version of santa?

Oh please .
He just looks longer to me. No, no kids are going to make the mental "fitness" connection.

This is ridiculous. He is a (plastic) potato, not a person. He cannot exercise, he cannot (over)eat, he cannot be a role model, he cannot lose weight, he cannot develop hypertension or Type 2 diabetes. Potatos are by nature somewhat round. Oh well.

The fingerling comment make me choke on my water. :rotflmao:
