View Full Version : toddler slide on wooden deck -- do we need some kind of surface protection?

We have no yard but a big wooden porch. We have this toddler climber/slide:

Reading the surfacing material thread got me thinking about this. I know the thread is about much larger playsets in yards, but wondering if it's OK that DC play on this with only the deck below?

I think you are fine. DS played on one of these last week at a playdate (indoors).

A fall from a baby sized slide wouldn't concern me as much as a large scale play structure, kwim?

My kids could fall off the couch and it probably isn't much different in height.

I'm the one who posted the guidelines for play structure surfacing but a toddler slide wouldn't worry me.
