UPDATE - :)Need some prayers for missing cat, PLEASE

I'm overjoyed to say that after 44 days on the lam, Kyt- Kat is home!

She was in someone's shed about 3/4 of a mile from home. A couple saw a dark colored cat about 2 weeks ago in their backyard. They didn't see my sign until a week later and then of course when they called we were on vacation. As soon as I got home my daughter wanted me to go get her. I told her not to get her hopes up as it has been a long time. I went over with flashlight and food. The couple said that hadn't seen the cat in over two weeks. I showed them a picture and they said they really didn't get a good look. I said I would look in the shed anyway as I was there. Well, they opened the door and I called her name. We heard a meow and I climbed over some stuff and called again. She jumped right out and landed in my lap! I was hysterical and grabbed her and put her in the car. I then hugged those people so hard I hope I didn't hurt them. They were crying when I left. Kissing my daughter goodnight with her at the bottom of the bed purring was beautiful! She is our Easter miracle. I now can say don't ever give up hope as you just never know! She is down to about 4 pounds from her 11, but otherwise seems fine.

This is the first time I have ever asked for any prayers but I believe that my cat is truly in danger or something. She went out this morning and usually comes back in an hour or two. It has been windy and freezing today and no sign of her. I went out and looked for with the treat bag that always gets her running. I feel in my heart that something is not right. I don't live near a road and I drove around anyway. Please send some mojo my way. My daughter will be heartbroken when she gets home from school to find her missing since she went out to play with her this morning.

I once lost my cat and she was gone for 2 weeks but then A neighbor found her in their yard. It was a very difficult time.

Sending PT your way. Also, don't give up! I had a cat go missing for 3+ weeks before I found him. He was found b/c someone saw a flyer I had put up & realized he had seen my cat hanging around his apartment complex. Post a "Missing" ad on Craigslist, Petfinder.com and put up signs.

Don't lose hope. Cats sometimes disappear for a while only to turn up later as if nothing had ever happened. But the wait is hoirrible.

Put some of your dirty laundry and/or blanket on your front lawn. We had friends lose a cat, years ago, and they did this overnight. She returned the next day.

Two weeks ago, our Bichon got out and has never been gone from us before. She was gone for close to ten hours and I put her favorite blanket on the lawn before bedtime. She was at the door two hours later, in the dark.

Their sense of smell is more than 500 times greater than a human, I am now a big believer in this.

Daughter bawling. She's worried that she does have a phone number on her in case the person who has her wants to call us. It is so cold out, but I guess I will stay up all night calling for her. Even DH went out to look for her. If it was a nice summer night I wouldn't be as worried but it is cold and windy. We have a little window that the cat looks in when she comes to the door and that makes the outside sensor light come on. Of course because it is windy it is going on every couple of minutes and I run to the door. Thanks for all the kind words. I'm going to put her bed out by the door anything at this point!

My family's cat from childhood went missing for 6 weeks (summer-fall). I was the only one who held out hope that long. But she showed up one night like nothing happened. She was a ragged mess but ok and went on to live many more years. I wish you the same good fortune.

Any sheds or garages she could have gotten closed into? Sewers to get stuck in? Putting the bed out is a great idea. Also PP's suggestions of something with your scent is good. Try leaving a can of really stinky food like Figaro or low-quality tuna out.

Well I made my last call for the night. I really hope to see her little face at the window in the morning. I've never lost an animal and it just plains sucks! I hate not knowing her fate right now.

Oh prayers go out there for all the missing cats and dogs! All I can say is this SUCKS! Are you in NY? Maybe there is a big cat camping trip we don't know about. (As my DD thinks)
