I looked it up and read the excerpt just now. I will add it to my reading list - sounds interesting.

It is very interesting. It's very different from what she has written so far.

What I wanted to discuss was the ending, which I won't now, as you guys have not read it.

The gist is, it's about 9 people stuck in a basement of a visa consulate after an earthquake. They start sharing their stories. Moving, poignant life stories, very Chitra Divakaruni style.

I'd recommend it. When you finish it let me know we can discuss :)

I enjoyed reading it although I missed the often mystical element in her other books. It obviously wasn't THAT though memorable b/c I can't recall the ending. I'll look through it soon and be back.

She's one of my favorite authors and it's been ages since I've read one of her books. I didn't know she had a new one out! Oh man, now I want to try to squeeze it in somehow.
