I never had an avatar photo (as I don't want pics of DDs here) but I just read that some folks remember users by their avatar photos so I uploaded one of chicken and waffles (a great meal I had at Bouchon in Vegas on our first kid-free trip in 4+ years!). I figure that's a great way to remember me, as I love to eat!

If you have one, how often do you change it? Do you avoid using photos of your kids, too?

Poll coming!

I sometimes have an avatar. I like to change the pictures and mix it up though.

I just uploaded a new one! :D

I change mine up. I usually have my kids in the picture. Think it's time for a change here too!

I used to have DD1's photo up there and am not opposed to having my kids up there, although I changed mine 18 mos. ago when I gave the BB book to my BIL+wife I thought I better change it because I have posted things I don't care for about them here before. I do look a lot like my avatar though.

So my new avatar theme is going to be pics of structures or scenery from my latest adventures. That's what my last one was (could anyone tell where the pic was from?)
and also my new one.

Mine is my cat, Bob. I'm lucky I figured out how to get it on there in the first place, so it's not likely to change anytime soon!

Now, can you identify the stroller in my avatar?

I thought it was Chicago too! (And then I chastised myself, thinking there are many more cities with skyscrapers than just Chicago. I feel vindicated.) What stroller is that?--The handle bar looks really long.

I have been meaning to update my avatar and signature for at least three months, lol. I don't mind using a photo of DS so long as it's not too distinguishable. (But I really regret my screen name.)

I used to change it all the time, but now very rarely.

I've been meaning to update my avatar for a while. Now you can enjoy an updated pic of DD-- from last fall. The previous pic was almost exactly 2 years ago.

I don't mind sharing DD's pic as long as it's not fully identifiable. I had some cute sunglasses ones last summer that I was going to do. When I got around to it.

I figured out how to post it once. Tried to change it a few times but can never get it to work :(

I have one photo and I don't plan on changing it. Avatars to me are like faces and really help identifying members as they post.

I used to update my avatar more frequently. Now it's over a year old, but it has always featured DD. I find avatars and signatures useful in remembering posters.

I do. It's 2 years old now... and I've since had another child...so I should update it...

But I love that picture of Jack.

It's like my Etsy avatar...it's one of my favorite pictures of Jack... and I am known for that picture.

I change mine for every holiday. It reminds me my kids have that day off from school or to wear green so I don't get pinched.

Well it's gotta be a mountain buggy because of the scooter also in the pic. :)
It's hard to tell though.

My avatar has been the same since I put it up a couple years ago now. The pic is DS, but it's really old, and since he has his hat on, I don't think he's recognizable. I'm probably not going to change it because I don't want a more recent one here.

I just changed mine. I don't think it's big enough to be identifiable.

It's Giselle. Aren't you shocked that I know that.

ETA: Oops, I identified the person not the stroller. clearly not reading:loveeyes:.

I change mine about every 6 months because I don't want to confuse people. I post pics of my kids. I'm really not that concerned that a BBB member will identify me...if they do, so what? I don't get the paranoia.

Who are you? Do I know you? I do not recognize your avatar.

This is a funny thread - I can say "yeah, I have an avatar" but since it shows up to the left there, it's kinda silly statement. :)

I chose that pic of Sprog because it's a funny angle and I don't think anybody could match the picture with the real child. But I also love that picture because it captures some of her inquisitive essence.

Another one I considered showed her from the back, no face.

I wouldn't change often because I think lots of people recognize us by our pictures. I'm getting to know certain people's personalities and values, which makes reading much more interesting - it's usually the people with distinctive user names or quickly recognizable avatars that click in my memory.

It's not Gisele, just some random model.

I :heartbeat: artvandalay's avatar. It's the best!

:ROTFLMAO:Thanks guys.

And arivecchi, I mentioned in another post (I think the one about paying attention to other posters) that avatars really help me remember who is who and your "one sexy leg" avi always stuck out in my mind and helped me remember who you are (she who gives great advice about all things strollers) :tongue5:

I have the pic below instead of as the avatar, but I guess that counts too. DS has changed a lot since that pic, but that may be a good thing so I'm sticking with it.

If it is Giselle that's quite a glamorous endorsement of Mountain Buggy! ;)

All this talk of avatars motivated me to change mine! :ROTFLMAO:

I voted don't have one/ don't plan to but if I find something just right I'll add it. No identifying ones though.

I change it when I remember to! I rarely have my DD, mostly random stuff or my dog.
