I know there have been prior threads on apps - but after a search, couldn't find anything relatively recent talking about apps for this age range.

Any suggestions? Any duds?

Thanks in advance!

My 9 year old plays with....

HP Lego (she bought it with her allowance, it was $4.99)

She really likes card games and there are many card game apps: Solitaire, Spit, Snap, etc.

Mad Libs

Cooking Mama
Mancala
Traffic Rush
Sudoku
Falling Gems
Radio Disney
Talking Tom (both kids adore this)
Rock Band
LiteBrite
Glow Coloring
Pictureka
Disney Fairies (I got this for younger DD, but it is too hard for her and older DD likes it)

I think we are the only people who don't like Angry Birds. :duck:

I think we are the only people who don't like Angry Birds. :duck:I love it. DD could take it or leave it. (Mostly leave it.) But lots of other good ones to explore - thanks!

my 7.5yo dd plays

Bejeweled (it was $3, but well worth it when she played cross country on the plane!)
cut the rope (i think this is her current fav). we started with free and then paid
sticker shop
unblock me free
sums stacker
geared
scramble (it's just like boggle)
whirly word
touch physics--we started with free and then paid
word jong
kids word search
make me a princess (still likes this one)

she went through an angry birds phase, but now seems to go for the gears and cut the rope and scramble more. also bejeweled!

these are all her apps on my itouch. i'll check hers for more and edit here when it's done charging.
