Just curious. I guess same reason why frog is being discontinued now. They are selling their product so well that there is no reason to offer a slightly cheaper model (everything is relative of course!)

As I understand, there was initially a frog, then cameleon, then gecko, but soon poor gecko lost his fat gig and had to start another job as insurance agent...

Was gecko smaller / lighter? Why was it cheaper? Or wasn't it?

Side note: I think same thing happened to baby jogger. First they had a hit with the fold, and classic and elite as 2 options, then they had another hit with city mini, and retired the classic to keep the elite...

The Frog was around before the Gecko, then when the Gecko died, the Frog came back. I can't keep up. Funny, but I have the "keeper models" of both - the Cameleon and the Elite. Love them both.

First there was the Classic (still see them sometimes when we're in Europe!), then the Frog. The Cam and Gecko were introduced simultaneously (I remember playing with them in a shop in Amsterdam, before they were on this side of the pond). There were rumours the Frog would go, but it didn't. Now the Gecko is going.

It was cheaper, and had fewer - or, depending on how you look at it, different - features. No bumper bar, for instance. The recline mechanism was different. No foam around the seat/bassinet frame. Can't remember what else, though!
