So we are ready to turn DD forward facing. This means we will switch her seat from being RF outboard passenger to the middle. DH and I are having a disagreement about whether we can use the LATCH if the seat is in the middle.

We have a Toyota Prius, which has LATCH anchors on each of the two outboard seats. It is physically possible to use the LATCH anchors when the seat is in the middle, but I'm not sure if you're supposed to. Neither the Prius manual or the Britax manual says specifically if you can or can't do this.

So, what do you think, car seat gurus?

If Toyota doesn't say you can, then you can't borrow them like that.

Some cars allow it (Ford does) for certain cars and some seats allow it (Britax does) for certain measurements. But, if both don't say it's okay, it's not.

Yeah, not Toyota. But the seatbelt install is an absolute breeze, often even easier than the LATCH.

Thanks all, that's what I thought.
