We stayed at a bed and breakfast last night. We are about to check out but my DH thinks we need to leave a tip. I say no- who would we tip? What do you think?

FYI, we didn't get breakfast in bed or any other extra service. TIA!

I wouldn't, especially since you didn't get any of the services, but I have never stayed at a bed and breakfast before.

We have never left a tip at a B&B. If they went out of their way to accommodate a special request/need then I would leave one.

Nope, definitely not if you didn't take a meal or use any services.

We tipped at a B&B in Hawaii, but that was after getting an AMAZING breakfast brought to our room every day - hands down the best breakfast that I've ever had, and they went out of the way to accomodate specific dietary needs.

No need to tip.

Nope. Glad you had a nice trip :)
I think it's part of the "do not tip the proprieter" set of rules. B&Bs are run solely by owners. Tipping is, in general, just for staff (servers, maids, etc).

I've always tipped at a B&B. The B&Bs I have stayed at hire someone to help clean the rooms, etc.

This is me, too. I figure that someone has to clean the room.

:yeahthat:

I always assume the tip left in the room is for the cleaning people.
