In case you don't ever make it over to the Car Seat forum...

AAP AND NHTSA (!!!) now recommends RF to age 2 (http://www.windsorpeak.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=393250)

This is very exciting news, please take the time to read about the updated guidelines for car seat safety and pass this information along.

It's about dang time the AAP and NHTSA finally admitted what we BBB mommas (and poppas) have been saying for years.

Thank goodness! It is about time!:cheerleader1::cheerleader1::cheerleader1:

Now, I can site those sources when my family asks why my DC is still rear-facing. They all just probably think I am overprotective.

I'm so glad about this, if only so I don't appear completely paranoid anymore:p

Now I will look well-informed instead of overprotective!

Woo hoo! Just emailed it to my mom's group...maybe they will stop thinking I am a weirdo! (Not that I ever really cared!)

This was perfect timing as a very good friend of mine just turned her 1 year old forward facing and I didn't know how to address the issue. This article gave me the perfect jumping off point. When I emailed her about it she replied that I am the third person she respects to email her and that there is no way she can ignore the seriousness of the issue. She plans to turn her DD back to rear facing. :D

FINALLY! It's been a loooooong time coming.

My Mom even called me this morning asking me about the "new" information. I told her that it wasn't new to us car-seat affectionado's, but was quite new to the general public and exciting!

I was the weirdo too, lol. My kid was the only 9 yo harnessed in her whole school, and this was 6-7 years ago.

I sure hope times are changing...
