There is a Mountain Buggy for sale on my craigslist. It says it is a 2009 urban double. is that differant than the duo? If it is what are the differances? I tried to find a baby gizmo review, but I got confused.

THANKS!!!

Yes. It is different. The 2010s are Duos. 2009 and earlier models are Urban Doubles.

The Duo has two separate and much larger canopies. It is also a bit more narrow and comes with the bumper bar.

arivecchi can answer this better since she's the MB queen, but the 2010s are narrower because the wheels were moved in slightly (I believe).
They also have larger canopies which are separate (rather than one canopy which cannot be operated separately)
THe 2010 also comes with a bumper bar as standard.

I dont' remember any others. The individual bigger canopies were the biggest change though I believe...

so this listing said that it comes with the duo canopies that were bought seperatly-that makes sense?

if i watch the baby gizmo 2010 review it will be the same besides the bumper bar?

how much wider is the urban than the duo?

thanks:)

As far as I know, the new canopies do not fit on the old MBUDs. The company has talked about a retrofit kit but it is not available at this point. The Duo is 2 inches smaller in the back - total width in the wheelbase is 27 inches. I think the top of the frame is 29 inches - its widest point.

FWIW, I have an older Urban Double (2006 I think?) and I love it, despite the canopy, which yes, would be nicer to have 2 separate canopies like the Duo. I bought the MB sun cover and we used that a lot, esp when DS was tiny and would take long naps in the stroller - and it was super nice not to worry too much about sunscreen, because of the SPF protection of the sun cover. If it's a good deal, I would check it out despite the fact that it's the older model.

I too have an older model...2009 I think. I love the stroller and even though MB has made some improvements it was a great stroller before. Don't be scared off :)

I agree with PP. I would get a 2009 too if it was great deal. They are solid strollers and the push is amazing.

Plus, (some say it doesn't matter), but mid-2009 and newer were manufactured in China, whereas previous ones were made n New Zealand.

That's a NO. You can find a new in box 2010 for $550 (if you're really lucky maybe even less, often with a warranty). Bob parent console is $30. Buggy board is $70-90. That makes a 2010 at most $700 NEW.
Pm me or arivecchi if you need help finding a deal on one...

ETA - I have seen them on my CL for $250-350. They might not be 2009s (maybe 2007s), but still, $650 is way too high

I would expect a CL price of around $400 for that stroller.

i don't know if it makes a differance, but Im in Canada so the prices are higher....

I am also looking into a 2009 bumbleride indie twin for $450 including a carseat adapter-is that worth it?

Are you near the border? For those prices you can get a new stroller shipped to the US border.

I just sold my 2009 indie twin this week for $450 but with 2 easywalker footmuffs and one 2010 multi use bumper bar (and all the original accessories which includes the infant car seat adapter).

I would say its worth it but I would probably offer $375 in hopes of landing at $400ish.
