Passwords - how do you remember them?

I have different passwords for websites (different passwords for different sites), banks, etc. I have a hard time remembering what the password is and which password goes with which thing. What makes it maybe harder is that I don't use anything like birthdays or any other identifying info. How do you keep them straight?

A Word document that I then send to my email program. I obfuscate inside the file in a way that I understand and most would not.
