Can you rotate an MVI video file that you took with a digital camera?

Title says it all I think. You know when you take a still picture with a digital camera you can rotate it with most picture viewing software? Can I do something similar with a short video that I took with a digital camera? I have some where I turned the camera to get a better view (vertical) but now my movie is sideways...

Looking for answers as I've btdt. Years ago I was taking a video of DS sliding down a tall slide and flipped the camera vertical without thinking. We all laughed when we watched him slide across the screen instead of down it.

Ok, I think I did it using Windows Movie Maker

I believe I've done this with iMovie.
