We are looking for a convertible car seat for a tall baby/toddler. DS just reached 6 months and is 29" (20 lb) so he will outgrow his 30" max. infant seat soon. We would like to keep him RF as long as possible -- at least until age 2, and longer if possible -- but I am worried about him reaching the RF height limits of a convertible seat early and having to turn it around or buy a new seat. He is around 99th percentile for height and has outgrown other baby gear we bought earlier than expected, so we're a little wary. We’d like to find a convertible seat we can use as long as possible.

We had been considering the Britax BV70, but have begun hearing stories of very tall toddlers not fitting into some Britax seats in the RF position through age 2. Do other convertibles accommodate tall toddlers better? Besides the overall height limit, are there other specs we should look at, like max. harness height? Internal seating depth? Recline?

The seat will be going in a Honda Pilot, by the way.

Thanks in advance.:)

The Radian XTSL has the tallest shell as far as I know. It also has a 45 pound rear facing weight limit.
