Just-for-fun poll... for those in the U.S., where are you in the process of filing taxes for 2010?

ETA that I just saw the first response and didn't think of differentiating between state and federal. So, for purposes of the poll, let's consider them together. That is, when will both federal and state be completed?

I finished my Federal in early Feb. and received my refund a week or so ago. I have yet to start on my State and Local taxes.

We received our refunds earlier this month from both state and federal.

I bought the Turbo Tax at the beginning of January with the intention of having everything filed by mid-Jan. Haven't touched a thing since.

Done with all of it except the paying part. We owe this year (first time ever) because we didn't have any withholding from the paltry $ DH made last year while un- and under-employed.

All our info is with the CPA and I hope it will be completed by 4/15. I'm guessing we will owe & it won't be pretty due to some stock we sold so that could be the only cause of a delay.

Already filed the federal taxes and got our refund. I need to file our state taxes but just haven't yet because we are only getting $140 back (but that's better than having to pay $500 like we did last year!).

I'm thoroughly confused about my taxes this year and so have procrastinated. I need to do this next week for sure! Though I'm afraid I don't know what I am doing and am not prepared. I had a lot of medical expenses with being pregnant and having baby etc and want to make sure I do my taxes correctly...

Very sore point! Last year and this year we filed with the on post tax center (military families get to go there for free, but it's not trained cpas). We just realized that they did it wrong last year and same again this year and we'll have to file an ammendment to correct it and pay back a ton of money :(

Hit other b/c gotta check w/DH on this. Last I knew we were getting a few K back. It was "almost done" about three weeks ago and I kept seeing it on his desk. He wanted the breakdown of the car tag $$ and I said just make something up. Is that bad? :D

Just look at your car registration--it should have the owner's tax (the $ that you deduct on taxes) itemized on there. I don't make anything up when it comes to taxes.

We have corporate taxes as well as personal, so the corp has to be in by Mar
15th. We just always give it to the CPA at the same time. He has already filed both so now we are just waiting on our refund check.

DH gets perverse pleasure in filing our taxes each year. If they could be done by Feb. 1 - they would be. I'm pretty sure he filed Feb. 13 or 14th this year.

I am envious of all you who have already filed and gotten your returns! Unfortunately, every year it's late March or early April when we finally get the IRS paperwork for one of DH's work-related investments. I wish that their CPAs would get on the ball earlier!

We haven't finished ours. We're not expecting a refund, so we are hardly in a hurry. ;)

When we get a refund we file as early as possible - when we pay, we mailed it 4/15 or nowadays, efile. We generally file fed and state at same time.

Filed and "refiled" (forgot the EIC proof page, oops). Now awaiting my return. :)

I'm the same way; especially this year since I figured the birth of a child would help us greatly. My W-2 arrives early -- like Jan 2nd -- my wife's does not. If it did, I'd have my taxes done by mid Jan.

Our CPA filed them about 2 weeks ago and we already got our fed return back. Wahoo!

We pay every year so we procrastinate getting everything in to the CPA. We drop off on Saturday and will be filed by the 15th.
