For anyone who might have read my BP last week, I was getting the house ready to list for sale while also planning DS' 5th birthday party. It was a wildlife-themed party at a local park-owned nature preserve type area.

As a time saving compromise, I decided to purchase a plan white frosted cake from the bakery and decorated it myself. Please check it out! :loveeyes:

I used Rick's Special Buttercream recipe from Allrecipes.com. I subbed butter for 1/2 of the shortening called for. It's not quite as tasty as some of the longer-prep cooked frosting recipes but it holds up very well for piping. I tinted with Wilton gel colors.

Thanks guys!!! You really made my week. Especially since I am all alone here with DS while DH is working in Atlanta while we (I!) try to sell the house, it's so nice to have so many cheering me on. Thanks again for giving me some affirmation for my hard work!
